Two Port Model (CE)


Modeling simplifies analysis KVL, KCL, etc Replace BJT with resistors and sources Allows for traditional electrotech analysis
Capacitors are considered shorts Voltage supply shorted to ground Impedances modeled as resistors Controlled current supply models BJT operation

Changing bias configuration just adds more resistors

ro = VCE / IC Depends upon biasing and amount of change in VCE Ranges between few hundred ohms to 50k In many cases can be ignored (RC >> ro) For our purposes: ro = 50k
