My 2012 Legacy. As part of the London 2012. Legacy, we ask staff about their favourite moment and how its changed them.. This week Miss Graves
What was your favourite moment of London 2012? My favourite moment of London 2012 was watching the Paralympic athletics live from the stadium when Team GB won Silver (Stef Reid - long jump) and Gold (Aled Davies - discus) and 80,000 people just erupted! It was unlike anything I've ever seen / experienced! My most memorable / inspirational moment was watching a swimmer who had no legs and only one arm swim 50m faster than most of us could ever dream of! How was London 2012 important to the country? London 2012 was important to us as a country as it enabled people to forget their differences and come together to celebrate not just the personal achievements of the athletes but also the huge amount of dedication shown by so many thousands of people involved in organising / making it happen. What do you hope is the legacy of London 2012 I hope that the legacy of London 2012 will live on well into the future, for future generations and our ancestors to look back in awe and with pride. I hope it has shown to the world that people can come together peacefully regardless of their race / religion / political beliefs and I hope that the unity of the world during London 2012 sends a positive message to everyone. What is your personal legacy? My personal legacy is to inspire and help people who may be less fortunate than myself, and that life really is too short so you should live every day to the full!
