Mission
The DKyr-class is the primary combat cruiser of the mid-22nd century Vulcan fleet. Its purpose is to defend Vulcan territories from aggressive species such as the Andorians and Klingons.

Background
The DKyr is an improved variant of the Shran-class starship. Using data gathered by the Shran-class combat cruisers, the Vulcan High Command commissioned the DKyr-class to address the less-than-optimal sublight performance of the Sh-ran, as well as the Shrans lack of an emergency separation system.

Features
The DKyr features the typical Vulcan circular ring-shaped warp drive, capable of achieving speeds of up to warp 7, among the fastest of ships in the 22nd century. In addition to its great speed, the DKyr possesses stateof-the-art sensors and weapons, as well as a prototype deflector shield capable of withering the most punishing weapon attacks. The DKyr possess a faster sublight drive than its contemporary the Shran, as well as an emergency detachable auxiliary vessel, the DKyr Support Ship. Though technically an armored transport vessel, the TalKyr-class Support Ship is a fully combatcapable starship in its own right, possessing adequate beam and missile weapons with a shield system as powerful as the DKyr itself and a warp drive capable of speeds as high as warp factor 6.
