Pilot Corporation ( Kabushiki Kaisha Pairotto Kporshon?, TYO: 7846) is a Japanese pen manufacturer based in Tokyo, Japan. It produces writing instruments, stationery and jewellery, but is most well known for its pens. It is the largest pen manufacturer in Japan, and has a large number of subsidiaries throughout the world, including in the Philippines, United Kingdom,Malaysia, Brazil, South Africa, Germany and France. Most Pilot pens are made in Japan, France and the USA. Namiki, the fountain pens with maki-elacquering designs, are made in the Hiratsuka factory.
History
The Pilot Pen Corporation was founded by Erich Drafahl and Ryosuke Namiki in 1918 under the name of the Namiki Manufacturing Company. In 1926 it established overseas offices in Malaysia,Singapore, Boston, London and Shanghai. In 1938 the name of the company changed to the Pilot Pen Co., Ltd. It was again renamed in 1950 as the Pilot Ink Company, Ltd. In 1954 a branch was opened in Brazil. From 1972 - 1999 various sub companies were formed to cover the various branches, and the collective name for these is Pilot Corporation. More recently, Pilot began the BeGreen line, pens and pencils composed of mostly recycled content.
Fountain Pens
In 1964, Pilot Corporation introduced the Capless. Unlike other fountain pens during its time, the Pilot Capless featured a fully retractable nib. The Capless was later reintroduced as the Vanishing Point in [1] The following chart contains the Pilot product lines.1972

Camlin started operations as "Dandekar & Co." with "Horse Brand" Ink powders and tablets in 1931, and shortly started producing "Camel ink" for fountain pens. It was incorporated as a private company in 1946, and was converted into a public limited company in 1988. In May 2011,[2] Japanese stationery major Kokuyo S&T, recently acquired a 50.74 per cent stake in Camlin and the firm is in the process of being renamed as Kokuyo Camlin Ltd.[3][4]
COMPANY ANALYSIS According to the Individual - Audited financial statement for the Year of 2012, total net operating revenues increased with 10.37%, from INR 254.17 tens of millions to INR 280.52 tens of millions. Operating result decreased from INR 14.4 tens of millions to INR 9.97 tens of millions which means -30.76% change. The results of the period decreased -79.64% reaching INR 1.71 tens of millions at the end of the period against INR 8.4 tens of millions last year. Return on equity (Net income/Total equity) went from 17.73% to 3.59%, the Return On Asset (Net income / Total Asset) went from 8.29% to 1.88% and the Net Profit Margin (Net Income/Net Sales) went from 3.30% to 0.61% when compared to the same period of last year. The Debt to Equity Ratio (Total Liabilities/Equity) was 91.55% compared to 95.86% of last year. Finally, the Current Ratio (Current Assets/Current Liabilities) went from 3.37 to 2.53 when compared to the previous year.
