http://vimeo.com/13579895 http://stillmotionblog.com/2010/06/28/working-incolor/ EOS 5D Mark II Shoots House M.D. Season Finale http://www.learn.usa.canon.com/galleries/galleries/inte rviews/5dtv_house_md_gallery.shtml shot with the steadicam zephyr (prototype), MKIV, and 7d. almost entirely shot on L-series primes. audio through on board rode video mics or wireless lavs into a zoom h4n. oh, and one more gear comment. in this you will see some MKII footage converted to 24P visa the 80% slowdown method, some EX1/A1 footage with a brevis, and some bare EX1/A1 footage. the couple steadicam shots were done with a prototype steadicam zephyr color was processed in apple color shot mostly on the MKIV, also some 7d, and MKII in there. our first sde processed almost entirely in color. the last bit (the boat scenes) were done in FCP due to timing. this was out first time trying the z-finder and it was a huge help in the sun. we used to use the playback/check histograms method but having the z-finder was huge in nailing focus and not worrying about exposure. MKIV, MKII, 7d, all 24P. a little car mount lovin' on the M3. mostly shot with the monopod, some steadicam flyer and cinevate atlas LTS30.

i love the contrast of the scenes shot in HD with the 7d and the super 8. to me, this contrast really conveys the contrast in their personalities. at times they are very outgoing, quirky, and quite silly. yet at others they are very quiet and romantic. by filming the same scene in the two different formats, i find it helps convey those two side to the same couple. this piece was shot with the MKIV, in 24P, with whatever lenses we could sneak away from the groups while they were shooting. shot handheld/monopod (which makes timelapses quite tough) with a MKIV. gorgeous location and perfect spot to test out just how weather resistant the MKIV is. shot on the MKIV and 7d, all in 24P. we even have a little 5d MKII converted to 24P in there. the ceremony was super dark but look how well the MKIV and 7d held up. shot with the 7d and MKIV. featuring the cinevate ballare dolly. lenses included the 135 f2, 50 f1.2, 24 f1.4, 35 f1.4, and 14mm rectilinear. shot it handheld w/ the 7D and the 24-105 and 70-200. shot w/ the 5D & 7D. shot entirely with the 7d in 24P. the timelapse was shot in raw. his is the 5d + 7d convergence. shot with 2 7ds, and one 5d, all in 24P. the 7ds were in 1080 24P, and the 5d was in 30P. it was then converted to 24P via the frame to frame 80% slowdown method.

We used Dfx version 2 for this piece.

the evolution experience

the majority of this footage in this piece was shot by those attending the evolution experience. there are a handful of 5D/steadicam shots that were shot by SM and then converted to 24P in post to mix with the rest of the footage. Shot with a 50 f1.4, 70-200 f2.8, 135 f2, and 45mm Tilt shift. Used the 16-35 f2.8 the most though. used a full EOS setup with the 24 1.4, 50 1.4, and 70-200 being the most common as well as some Zeiss primes including a 28 f2, 50 1.4, and 100 f2 macro. On the steadicam, used both the 50 and 28 from Zeiss. The ceremony was shot with the steadicam and two 70200s.
