Denney Drills 300 in Hopkins Trio

DAYTON, OH (CPI) Danny Denney used a perfect 300 game to propel him to a rousing 691 three game series last week in the Hopkins Trio League. He started out big with 244, slipped to 147, before solving the hardwood for his big game. High scoring honors for the evening went to young fireballer Doug Moss, Jr. who celebrated another striking performance with 216-278-279---773. Actually, Moss said, I didnt have much choice. Someone had to step up to the plate the way [teammate Brad] Bridges stunk up the joint. In other Hopkins action, Jason Butler fired 235-254-246---735 and Jack Rasnic dissected the pins for 202-279-228---709.

Justina Tibbs Nails 297, 651 Series

Ruedrich Perfect in GT
Last week in the Tuesday evening Goodtimers League, Blizzard Ices Tim Ruedrich started off the evening with a lowly 156 game. But the poor start was just a minor inconvenience for the good-natured righthander. The next game he struck in the first frame, and then continued to put up Xs on the scoreboard until he ran out of room for a perfect game! Ruedrich followed up his perfecto with 246 to finish with a whopping 702 series. Other big scores include: Emory Corron (242-226-258---726), Jeff Sortman (289-222-199---710), Mark Tibbs (236-224-246--706) and Justina Tibbs (297-181-173---651).

Jamie Brunswick Rips 714

Jamie Brunswick vaulted to a massive 714 series last week in the Christina Jackson Memorial League. The portsider started off the evening with 223, added 235, and then finished with 256.

Swallows Back on Top

Not long after his record-breaking season when he averaged an obscene 242 in the Hopkins Trio League here at Poelking Lanes, Jake Swallows suddenly began to feel what some believed to be the ravages of a slump. After all, his average had plummeted clear down in the 220s. Yeah, right. A week ago the former Fairmont Firebird unloaded a whopping 258-279-217--754 in the Dayton Rainbow League. A slump? Were thinkin not. In other league action, Quinn Mathews hit the jackpot for 222-193-264---679, Manny Gonzalez rolled 165-172-226---563, and Sassy Coleman recorded 172-148-200---520.
