TCENet is a FOSS based ERP package developed to automate

the day-to-day activities of the institution from student


admission to Alumni Association It has 30 modules such as Online News, Attendance, Alumni,

Online assignment, Placement, Software Forum, Poll,


Maintenance, E-Circular,Feedback, Internals, Articles, Dues, Profile, Nominal Rolls, Time Table, Search, Hot Downloads, Right

Now messages, Thought for the moment, Birthday Wishes,


Calendar, Online Assignment, Achievements, Status Report and Video lectures.

Version control system is used to keep source code versioned


Redmine is used for Project Management activities.

TCE Website is developed using Drupal, a Free Software based Content Management system with MySQL as backend. Home page with links to Institute, Departments, Courses, Admissions, General Activities, Photogallery, Alumni, Library, Placement, Intranet links, News, Events, Search and other information

TCE Attendance Monitoring System(TAMS) http://tams.tce.edu


TAMS is a combination of RFID and Biometric technology Finger print devices capable of reading smart cards and finger prints are installed at all department buildings. These terminals are connected to the IP Network infrastructure of the college, thus giving instant access to the Databases and servers of the college. Time management and Leave management for staff are integrated in TAMS

Mail server with Exim4 for SMTP, Cyrus for IMAP access, Mailman for mailing lists, Squirrel mail as the Web mail interface with LDAP authentication User mail alias provision is provided for this 1 GB mail box storage

TCE Admission Automation(TAA) http://taa.tcenet


Web based student admission process which includes Students record creation, Certificate verification, Fees collection, Course registration and Report generation.

TCE Exam Automation(TEA) http://tea.tcenet


It includes Pre-examination work, Master Galley preparation, Exam schedule, Attendance, Fee collection, Revaluation applications, Marks entry and budget maintenance, Result publishing, Mark sheets and Transcripts.

Single Sign-on
The main policy is 1user:1password i.e. user can access to any machine inside the campus in various laboratories using single userid/password. OpenLDAP based Central Authentication System is configured. It uses Samba based file server to authenticate with LDAP and domain controller that can be accessed from both GNU/Linux and other operating systems like Windows.

Major services
Integrated all servers/machines inside the Campus with the Central servers Centralized File storage area/quota (100MB) using which user files can be stored/uploaded in a centralized storage box (NAS box) TCE Mail Service usage in the same account Shell server for accessing local file storage anywhere outside the college

Firewall
It is a Custom firewall built using iptables and bridge-utils. The commodity PC hardware runs no other service other than the firewall. NAT for internal networking is done using iptables in the TCE Proxy server. Port forwarding and blocking is also included. A college wide Web-cache using Squid is also used.

TOSS is a GNU/Linux Operating System distribution built and customized to cater the software needs of various branches of science and engineering students, programmers, multimedia designers and common people with localization support.

TCE Alumni portal includes Registration, Alumni search, Profile updation, Alumni Directory, Alumni Mentor, Mail quota, Chapter News, Chapter creation, news letter and Galleries for alma mater memories.

TCE Cluster http://www.tce.edu/tcecluster/


The High Performance TCE Cluster has 1 master and 32 slave nodes. The Message Passing Interface (MPI) used here provides defined APIs for writing parallel programs in 'C'. An interface is designed to submit jobs and deploy in scientific cluster environment on time sharing basis.

TCE has set up a cloud environment in the data center to cater to the computational needs of research scholars and students. It is build on Open Stack using 16 nodes each with 2 cores, 3GB RAM and 80 GB of storage

Repositories http://repo.tcenet
Repositories are used to manage GNU/Linux distributions, packages updates. It provides open access to all users in intranet.

Shell server http://shell.tce.edu


Shell server is used for webpage publishing by staff and students of TCE.It is secure, professionally supported and based on open standards.

TCE Enterprise Asset Management System(TEAM) http://team.tcenet


Barcode based asset tracking system captures existing and new asset details. It is a web based solution that automates stock register entries, helps in tracking of assets and provides budget plans.

TCE Inventory Control System(TIC) http://tic.tcenet


It automates the process of managing inventory for the stationary items in TCE. Using this system, stationary items are distributed to users. The various modules included are bill details, items for ordering, receiving and tracking.

TCE Moodle http://moodle.tcenet


The Learning Management System is used for online course registration, sharing of course materials, assignments and evaluation. It paves the way for effective interaction between industry and institute in Industry Collaborative courses.

Major Features
It is very much user-friendly and designed with multiple user levels and ACL roles. All the operations are made online and available to users 24/7/365. Login once-access everything policy of TCENet lets login to one web application (e.g. intranet), then move between other web applications without having to login repeatedly. With TCENets SSO capabilities, users can also logout of one Web application and instantly be logged out of them all.
