Bank of Kigali was recognised as the Best African Listing following the completion of a US$62.5 million IPO, where the Bank emerged as the second domestic company to list on the Rwanda Stock Exchange. The issue was 2 times oversubscribed and generated significant interest from international, regional and local investors despite the adverse global market conditions. emeafinance magazine is a publication of London-based Exporta Publishing & Events Ltd. I would like to acknowledge the African Investor for the recognition. The IPO and subsequent listing significantly raised the Banks profile in the financial markets while consolidating our position as the best capitalised Bank in the Rwandan banking sector. Equally important, the listing has also spurred activity on the emerging Rwandan bourse thus encouraging other companies to consider the capital markets as a viable source for long term financing. I would like to thank all those who made the IPO a success and commit, on behalf of Management, to continue to deliver good returns to our shareholders, commented James Gatera, Chief Executive Officer. The CEO added, It is noteworthy that the Bank has been recognised as the Best Bank in Rwanda by emeafinance for the 4 years running. This demonstrates our continued commitment to our customers through superior delivery of financial services and products. I would like to congratulate our entire team on these accolades. The listing was a major milestone for the Bank and I am pleased for the recognition it has received, commented Lado Gurgenidze, Chairman of the Board.
