started in the year 2002 with a view to providing an interactive platform to management students. However since last 4 years, the reach of the event has been widened and this year again we are inviting institutes from various disciplines like Commerce, Liberal Studies, Engineering and Law. Therefore, CONCOURSE a meeting place for the budding business people of tomorrow is an event that promises an opportunity for a student to sharpen his skill-set by exploring presentation skills, communication skills, analytical ability, leadership skills, and creativity skills that proficient graduates will require when they eventually enter the Job market. It also gives them a unique platform to interact with people from industry who will be sharing their rich experience, academicians who will give them invaluable pointers for self-improvement and of course, fellow students from other institutes. This will give them a feel of what is expected from them at the post-graduate level and also on the career path ahead. In order to invest the event with true spirit of hosting, for last six years BKMIBA has been participating in CONCOURSE on a non competing basis. This year also students from the Institute will compete for individual winning, though the Institute will not compete for the overall CONCOURSE Trophy.

This time for CONCOURSE 2012 we have chosen RURAL DEVELOPMENT: A Must for Inclusive Economic Growth in India as its theme; the events will be built around this theme.

Rural Development A Must for Inclusive Economic Growth in
India Have we ever thought why of late India Inc. is making a beeline for the hinterland? Has India Inc. realized that the pace and sustainability of economic growth across nations and over decades is due to the involvement of the majority of populace? Since the greater part of India still lives in its villages, rural development is essential for the nations sustained economic development. Rural India has hardly ever been an interesting target market for business. However, rural India of today has risen beyond the stereotypes of the past. The villages now have greater access to information, and thus, their aspirations are growing as fast as if not faster than their incomes. Armed with innovative pricing and smart marketing strategies, the corporate sector is venturing deep into the hinterland trying to woo the rural consumer. And rural India is happy to be wooed!!! Concourse 2012 has therefore chosen as its theme, Rural Development A Must For Inclusive Economic Growth in India All the events of Concourse 2012 are being organized with the objective of sharing ideas and concepts on the inter-linkages between issues related to innovation for the rural, by the rural leading to inclusive growth, rural social entrepreneurship, emergence of rural based technologies and harnessing the demographic opportunity. Its a wake-up call for everybody. Lets move from India to Bharat..in fact lets reach out to the real BHARAT rural India.
