The main colour scheme for this poster is red, light blue, grey and black.

A very abnormal yet unique scheme that has been appropriately designed and placed to make the image as a whole appeal to the audience. While the grey background emphasises the soft, slow paced property of I am Kloots genres used in their songs, the red puts contrast in that as it is bright, dominant and is an implication of the excitement and interesting content that comes with the bands songs and music videos. The light blue also lightens up the poster image a little bit, another use of colour contrast to the dominantly used dark grey background colour. What is interesting is how the colours are used for the right image properties, such as bright red being used for the chair and the title. Whereas the grey is used for the TV and background. The blue is used for both inside the TV and what is possibly the drool of the man who has feel off his chair. (This possibly hints the content of some of Kloots song such as Proof, which focuses on a story of sadness and possible degradation. Also the video I am using for the coursework where these factors are amplified into my own narrative story. All main features are included, including the title, main image in the centre of the screen applying to the rule of thirds, the date, location, etc

The typography is an interesting thing in this poster. The font of the main title seems to be resembling of Posterbodoni font, it technically appears to be bold and rectangular, so it appears to be straight and organised. However, the font also has some curves and wide letter parts, such as the shape and structure of the A. This is another contrast in how Kloots production is sometimes relatively simple yet its story and lyric content is much more complex. The contrast in font representation as explained is perhaps a metaphorical statement for the content of the bands videos. This is an interesting image as the band members themselves are not shown, and the basic marketing techniques that can be used for a music poster are not in this example. However, the confused, knocked out infant still appeals to Kloots lower middle class audience of people struggling to get by. Therefore, the image still appeals to the audience, and the song content, since most of Kloots songs relate a lot to what the target audience is associated with.

The colour scheme is black and white with a few other colours used in minor ways. The simplistic design and layout of this poster perhaps relates to Sineads songs. Most of them relate to the soft rock/alternative rock genre, are slow paced, and emotional. While the lack of colours limit certain illustrative techniques that could be used and included, it certainly helps for the included content to stand out a lot more. Since the background is white, and Sinead is wearing black, she stands out much more from the background. The title and writing underneath the image in black text also stand out much more from the opposite white background. The colour palette has assisted in making the included content of the image stand out much more significantly and stand out more to viewers of the poster. This is an effective way to make people look at the poster easier. The location and date have been neatly placed underneath the title. The title has overlapped the image and has been placed in white outlining from the background to create a colour contrast and make it stand out more as a title. The layout and structure is very interesting here. All the content has been placed in very effective yet basic positions. The production of this poster is basic and stereotypical, yet it helps to make the poster overall appear more noticeable and presentable. The use of Sinead herself as the main image represents a use of basic marketing techniques in this poster. The portrayal of her as the dominant element on this poster will definitely attract her fans who see this poster, and let them know how significant she will be in the performance. This will certainly help the turnout of the performance. The first example was more ambiguous in its representation.

In this example, much of the needed content and elements such as a barcode that I will add into my own poster are not featured in this poster example. This is because while my poster is advertising a particular song, this poster aims more towards the artist. The first example does as well. However, the use of typography, colour schemes, images and featured contents provides me with inspiration as to how I should produce my own poster. The layout has certainly become an apparent importance in the production of any poster. This influences me to consider the design of my own poster and consider where to place all of my properties on to my poster.

This album was used in my 3x album cover analysis post. This is the poster that came along with that album during the marketing campaign of the album itself. As evident, some of the colour palette has been maintained, such as the use of brown, yellow and white. The typography is still bold Arial font, and the style of basic designs and drawings being used for this poster example has also been maintained for all marketing resources. This example of significant consistency in design is an implication that fitting designs and similar features for both the poster and the Digipak might be necessary in order for me to achieve high in this coursework. Consistency is sometimes useful in media products as it helps the audience usually identify what band and style of music a product contains via associating it with connective relevant products. In this case, the poster strongly associates with the album cover, so the target audience for Elbow will be much more familiar and appealed by this poster because they are familiar with Elbows style of representation within media texts. It is notable that the layout and structure of the poster is very stereotypical in design. The title and subhead appear at the top in colour contrasting font. The main image appears in the middle of the poster thereby conforming to the rule of thirds in media products. Then the date, details and critical reception notices all appear at the bottom as small, additional information that will make the viewer more interested. With this layout, each element in this poster image is highly represented and noticeable. The title is obviously the main attraction, being in large, bold text with darker colours compared to that of the image background. The centre image doesn't stand out that much fro m a distance but to those looking at the poster closely, the sketch designs of the band members will certainly intrigue them. This is an effective way of Elbow appealing to their target audience well with use of illustration. Finally, the initially least notable yet crowd drawing sight is the details section below. The critical reception rating in particular might help to make fans interested.

The poster slightly resembles design practices of that of the I am Kloot example. Both have small quantity based yet appealing to target audience colour palettes, both use basic sketch drawing imagery, and both appeal to the soft rock/alternative rock target audiences via the use of effective designs, layout and use of additional details. The poster analysis task has actually made me think, maybe my images should contain some sketch art as well. maybe
