In this follow-up to Men Who Hate Women (a.k.a. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo in the UK and the US), the focus falls on the character of Lisbeth Salander. Accused of a triple murder, she is drawn into tangled web of intrigue that leads back to her murky past, while Mikael Blomkvist does everything in his power to prove that she is innocent. Michael Nyqvist and Noomi Rapace continue to play the leading roles, accompanied by a very notable ensemble, including Lena Endre, Peter Andersson and Per Oscarsson. The experienced Daniel Alfredson directs. The first film in the series, Men Who Hate Women, premiered in Scandinavia in early 2009 and has since enjoyed massive success in cinemas in Europe. It has been seen by a total of more than seven million viewers, of which 2.8 million in the Nordic region, 1.2 million in France and 1.5 million in Spain. Noomi about Lisbeth Salander Lisbeth is a human being whos suffered a lot. She needed to create her own world, her own set of rules, as the ones that exist havent helped her. Shes always been completely alone in her world, outside it shes been vulnerable. Lisbeth has locked away her emotions, her heart, to protect herself. Everything inside her is deeply rooted, and once shes let someone in shed incredibly faithful and loyal. She will fight to the death for what she believes in. Noomi about working on the role All people possess all qualities in different amounts, to differing degrees. For all of the roles that I play, its a matter of finding the important element inside me. In Lisbeth, her wounds and vulnerabilities are right to the fore. In me they were much deeper down, I had to emphasise them to be able to portray Lisbeth.
