Title: Seminar-Workshop on Social Work Case Management for the members of the
Integrated Society of Social Work Students (ISSWS)
II.
Rationale:
Social Work Case Management as clearly linked to Social Casework, a
fundamental concept of Social Work Practice is precisely vital to the role of the
Social Worker to his/her Clients in which a better orientation and training on this
subject could improve or maximize the Social Workers performance enabling
him/her to help his/her Clients more efficiently and effectively. Thus, as observed in
the academe sector wherein Social Work Students are deployed as practitioners to
various communities and/or agencies are lacking of capacity and capability building
activities in terms of case management to equip themselves with the proper
knowledge, skills, attitude, and values as they begin to deal with their clients at their
field practice in which the Officers of the Integrated Society of Social Work Students
as convened in a meeting had synthesized that there is a need to sought the help of
experts in the said subject to further develop and enhance the attributes on social
work case management.
In coordination with various Social Work Professionals particularly the academe
sector from the various Universities and Colleges offering the course Social Work
and the Philippine Association of Social Workers Inc. Baguio-Benguet Chapter
through the Integrated Society of Social Work Students, A Seminar-Workshop on
Social Work Case Management for its members shall be held on November 11, 2012
at the Quirino Hall Conference Room, Teachers Camp, Baguio from 8:00am to
4:00pm. A Resource Speaker shall be invited from the Faculty of the Department of
Social Work in Saint Louis University Baguio City.
The Seminar-Workshop was designed to reorient and further equip the
participants on Case Management in order for them to increase in efficiency and
effectiveness as Change Agents for Social Protection. The training enables the
participants to maximize their time and attributes in the way they handle different and
various cases which eventually results in catering more clients as well as properly
accomplishing case study reports that are highly critical in the life of each and every
client a Social Worker encounters. The manner of formulating and presenting a case
study report decides for the fate of each and every client thus it is a necessity to
assure that Social Work Students especially Field Practitioners as future Social
Workers to be more responsible, accountable, competent, and responsive to their
clients to further expedite the advancement of Social Protection and Development to
the Society especially to the underdeveloped and developing communities, sectors,
and groups.
