The Supreme Pupil & Student Government Officers, headed by Ma. Paula Bianca O. Monsalve and Rina Angela Peales, together with the PTA Executive Board, led the tribute to the HCECi mentors today October 5, 2012 during the Culminating Activity in celebration of the Teachers Month Ca Campaign (TMC). The theme of the celebration is My Teacher, My Hero. The celebration aims to : (1) highlight the unique role, service and commitment which teachers play in guiding the families, strengthening the communities, and building the nation; (2) revitalize the image of and respect for teaching as a vocation by increasing public awareness on the value of teachers in Philippine society and in national development; (3) use the occasion to call on everyone to contribute in making teaching as an attractive profession and in giving teachers the needed support and assistance; (4) generate widespread support for teachers in particular and education in general; and, (5) express gratitude ; sincerely for the positive influences teachers had on the Filipino learners. (Excerpt from DepEd Memo No. 168, s. of 2011)
For HCECians, to celebrate the World Teacher's Day, a simple program inside the classroom, was organized by the student leaders of the CLASS COUNCIL, which was highlighted by the program at the MPC. For the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), a specialized United Nations agency whose ambitious goal is to b build peace in the minds of human beings through education, World Teachers Day has been held annually on 5 October since 1994. It commemorates the anniversary of the signing in 1966 of the UNESCO/ILO Recommendation Concerning the Status of Teachers. It is an occasion to celebrate the essential role of teachers in providing quality education at all levels. However, in the Philippines Teachers' Day is actually celebrated in schools between the months of September and October (mainly elementary and secondar levels). Teachers secondary are presented with orchid corsages by students. Groups of students representing various grade levels perform short skits or song and dance numbers, or read poetry for their teachers in front of fellow schoolmates in the Student Council who coordinate the activities well in advance.

The Department of Education (DepEd) this year will celebrate the Teacher's Month Campaign (TMC) during the whole month of September. It will culminate on October 5, 2012 which is the World Teacher's Day (WTD).

UNITED NATIONS CELEBRATION

Profile: United Nations
The United Nations (UN), which emerged in 1945 from the devastation of global conflict, aims to "save succeeding generations from the scourge of war". Its mission is to maintain international peace and security and to promote friendly relations between countries. etween The UN Charter upholds human rights and proposes that states should work together to overcome social, economic, humanitarian and cultural challenges.

BACKGROUND
The UN's predecessor, the League of Nations, was established after the 1914-18 World War. 18 It aimed to prevent another global conflict, but it failed to halt the slide towards war in the 1930s and was disbanded in 1946. Much of the league's structure and many of its aims were adopted by its successor. In 1944 the US, Britain, the Soviet Union and Britain, China met in Washington and agreed on a blueprint for a proposed world organization. The blueprint formed the basis of talks in 1945 between representatives from 50 countries. Under the terms of the resulting charter the UN came into being on 24 October 1945. e MEMBERS The UN comprises 192 member states. Montenegro is the newest member - it joined in June 2006. Membership grew as colonies became independent and the Soviet Union disintegrated. The Vatican and Taiwan remain non-m non members. Most members have permanent missions at the UN's main headquarters in New York. Potential members are recommended by the Security Council and are admitted by a two two-thirds majority vote in the General Assembly. Member nations contribute to the running costs of the UN. running A country's contribution is assessed on its ability to pay. The US is the top contributor.

OFFICE OF THE STUDENT AFFAIRS

GUIDELINES in ACCOMPLISHING THE ARA FORM for ALL LEVELS (Gr. 1-9)
Effective school year 2012-2013, all pupils/students of HCECi will personally accomplish the ARA Form prepared by the Office of the Student Affairs (OSA). o ARA Form contains all the activities for the term or semester. All the pupils have to do is to identify which activity they have joined by writing one of the following: Participant, or Member, or Finalist First (1st), Second (2nd), Third (3rd), Fourth (4th) After accomplishing the ARA Form, pupils are required to present and submit certified true copies of all documentary and evidentiary requirements of their co-curricular achievements, except when the ARA participation is of public knowledge ( in most cases, activities fall herein). The ARA Points will then be validated by the mentor, coach, validating officer, and/or adviser through their signature. Get the SUB-total ARA points for the term / semester by adding all points regardless of the number of valid co-curricular achievements in all areas/activities. Pupils must secure PARENTS SIGNATURE as conforme of the data presented in the ARA Form. Once signed, parents agree and waive any complaints regarding the accuracy of the entries in the form. Pupils now submit the form to the respective Class Advisers for checking and verification purposes. Once checked and verified, pupils seek OSA (Office of the student affairs) heads signature for APPROVAL. The Office of the Student Affairs now keeps the Form which will later be used during the deliberation of Year-Ender Honor Pupils. Follow the schedule of the submission of ARA Forms. Accomplish the ARA Form in one-week time after release. NO EXTENSION of DUE DATES will be given to late ARA forms. Once submitted late, the Office of the Student Affairs reserves the rights to reject or refuse ARA Forms for nonadherence to the policy regarding submission on form on due dates. Hence, pupils get ZERO points. Immediate dissemination and strict compliance with this set of guidelines is directed. For clarification and questions regarding ARA (Academic-Related Activities), please set an appointment to the OSA through the secretary during Office Hours only. MR. MELVIN C.
