In their screed, "What is the truth about American Muslims?

", the Interfaith Alliance tells one lie so egregious that it warrants a post of its own for rebuttal. This is that post. The lie is contained in the sentence quoted below. The critical clauses have been highlighted for clarity.

This lie is an exemplar of kitman: deception by obfsucation. When Muslims utter & publish that expression, they conceal their definition of innocent: Muslim. In the Islamic mindset, Muslims are innocent; infidels are guilty of Kufr: rebellion against Allah & his Messenger. The first clue is contained in Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:33. I will quote the critical clauses and display an image of the verse. [Increase magnification to make the image legible.] The recompense of those who wage war against Allh and His Messenger...they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land.

What is the meaning of "wage war against Allah"? While the Qur'an does not tell us, Tafsir Ibn kathir is more forthcoming. `Wage war' mentioned here means, oppose and contradict, and it includes disbelief, blocking roads and spreading fear in the fairways. The Punishment of those Who Cause Mischief in the Land Wage war means oppose and contradict, thus both physical and verbal opposition to Islam are included. A set of three examples is included, disbelief is one of them. Anyone who does not believe in Allah is not innocent: he is waging war against Allah and is subject to execution. Our second clue is contained in the context of Surah An-Nisa' 4:92. 4:92. It is not for a believer to kill a believer except (that it be) by mistake, and whosoever kills a believer by mistake, (it is ordained that) he must set free a believing slave and a compensation (blood money, i.e Diya) be given to the deceased's family, unless they remit it. 4:94. O you who believe! When you go (to fight) in the Cause of Allh, verify (the truth), and say not to anyone who greets you (by embracing Islm): "You are not a believer"; seeking the perishable goods of the worldly life. Killing another Muslim is strictly forbidden, but there is no mention here of killing infidels, except by implication in 94. When you go to fight them, don't kill anyone who claims to be Muslim. Once again, Tafsir Ibn Kathir offers some clarity. The blood of a Muslim who testifies that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah, is sacred, except in three instances. The Ruling Concerning Killing a Believer by Mistake The blood of a Muslim is sacred. What of the blood of an Infidel, is it sacred? For the answer, we turn to the authentic hadith collection of Bukhari 1.8.387. And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah."

Supreme Court bench. There are four classes of people. If you are an infidel, you are either a Dhimmi, under a peace treaty or belligerent. Either, he is a Muslim; or, he is a Dhimmi (a free, protected, nonMuslim resident of a Muslim state); or, he is beneficiary of a peace pact and has been assured of the protection of his life, property, honour and religion; or, he is a belligerent disbeliever. Eight cases of killing are considered, we are interested in the last two: 7. The intentional killing of a belligerent disbeliever. 8. The accidental killing of a belligerent disbeliever. The injunction relating to situations 7 and 8 is already evident from the very legalization of Jihad itself which has appeared earlier (86) because belligerent disbelievers are killed intentionally. If killed accidentally, its justification will stand proved in a higher degree. If you are neither Muslim nor a protected person, you are killed intentionally. If one Muslim murders another, he is subject to execution. What if he kills one of us? Sunan Abu Dawud 39.4491 has the answer for us. A believer will not be killed for an infidel.

Having demonstrated proof from the Qur'an, hadith & tafsir, I will now display to you something you are unlikely to see elsewhere: proof from Shari'ah; Islamic law. Our first source is the all purpose handbook of Shafi'i fiqh: Reliance of the Traveller. 9:29 with which nearly everyone is familiar, is codified in Shari'ah as the scriptural basis of Reliance O9.8, which flatly declares that the caliph makes war on Jews, Christians and Zoroastrians. There is no mention of provocation other than infidelity. Reliance O9.1 describes the communal obligation to perform Jihad, which must be done at least once each year. It also tells us that it is performed on Islamic initiative against passive infidels in their own country, minding their own affairs. Hedaya, the code of Hanifi fiqh as used in India, confirms Reliance and adds some clarity. "Destruction of the sword is incurred by Infidels although they be not the first aggressors." The chapter on Jizya reveals even more: Jizya is a "species of punishment" for infidelity ie: not being Muslim. The original punishment is decapitation; Jizya is a profitable substitute: protection money also known as extortion. Jizya is not imposed on women and children because they must not be killed. They must not be killed because they are slaves: property for Muslims. It was asserted that killing innocent people is forbidden in Islam. How are women and children taken captive if they are not attacked? Hedaya tells us that our lives and property are forfeit because we are not Muslims. Islamic law is the capstone on the stack of proof of Islamic dishonesty. Reliance O9.1 O9.8 O9.13 enslavement!
