Healthy Eating: Making Good Choices

Facilitator: Shelley Weinstock, PhD, CNS
What does good healthy eating mean and why is
it important? Explore how to set personal lifestyle
goals through healthy eating choices and tools
for changing behaviors to accomplish a better
sense of healthy living. Learn about plating
food, shopping, cooking, and the importance
of exercise with good food choices. Also learn
a few special recipes. Bring your suggestions for
additional nutrition programs, a willingness to
discuss healthy eating and any questions.

Spiritual Drumming and Meditation for MEN
Tuesdays: October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 at 7:30pm
Facilitator: Cantor Ted Aronson
Through the media of drumming and chanting
(no special musical skills necessary) and utilizing
Jewish sources, this course will explore issues
of mindfulness, which is about being present
with ourselves and our own inner experiences.
Mindfulness or focused awareness, supports
emotional regulation, reduces stress and anxiety,
helps focus the mind to help you become the
person you want to be and reduces negative
behaviors and emotions. Bring your own rhythm

Join us for this informal, relaxed, monthly
discussion group on parenting issues. We
address topics that matter most to parents
of preschoolers: how to set effective limits,
sidestepping power struggles, pre-empt
whining, helping your child eat healthily and
sleep through the night, managing separation
anxiety --yours and theirs, coping with feelings
about a new sibling and developing resilience
and emotional intelligence in your child. Learn
what works for other parents and share your
experiences. Coffee and snacks are provided.

for New Moms and Babies

group of women to share experiences, gather
resources, ask questions, and bring more calm
to the adjustment of motherhood. Form a warm,

Mindfulness Meditation and Chant Group

Experience Hebrew chant and mindfulness
meditation. The type of meditation we practice
uses simple melodies, breath and awareness
exercises that relax the mind, open the heart
and bring our attention to the present moment.
In the silence after a chant, many people
experience a sustained sense of inner calm for

always be guided, and no previous meditation
or chanting experience is necessary. For more
