1. Predetermine the regulation of the given 3-phase alternator where the
armature reaction effect is considered as an additional voltage drop. Assume
the dc resistance to be 2.5 / phase. Compute the regulation at the

10. Using Blondels two reaction theory predetermine the regulation of the
given3-phase alternator at full load at the following power factor:
u.8 log, uPF & u.8 lcoJ. Assume the dc resistance to be 2.5 / phase.
11. Predetermine the regulation of the 3-phase alternator with salient poles using
a suitable experiment. Compute the regulation for FI u.8S log, uPF & u.8S lcoJ.
Assume the dc resistance to be 2.5 / phase.
12. Obtain the performance characteristics of a 3-phase rotating transformer
with short-circuited secondary, by conducting a suitable experiment. Also
plot the torque-slip characteristics.
13. Obtain the performance characteristics of a motor fed with 415 V, 50 Hz
supply whose starting resistance is very less, by conducting a suitable
experiment. Also plot the torque-speed characteristics.
14. Plot the performance characteristics of the given 3-phase ac motor whose
rotor runs with a speed lesser than static field, by conducting a suitable
experiment. Also plot the torque-slip characteristics.
15. Obtain the performance characteristics of a 1-phase ac motor that uses
auxiliary winding for starting, by conducting a suitable experiment. Also plot
the torque-slip characteristics.
16. Obtain the performance characteristics of a motor fed with230V, 50 Hz
supply whose starting winding is disconnected after a predetermined speed,
by conducting a suitable experiment. Also plot the torque-speed
characteristics.
17. Plot the performance characteristics of the given 1-phase ac motor whose
starting winding and running winding have 90

or less phase shift, by


conducting a suitable experiment. Also plot the torque-slip characteristics.
18. Draw the equivalent circuit of a 3-phase rotating transformer with short-
circuit secondary, by conducting a suitable experiment. Assume the per
phase stator resistance to be 1.5 when connected to dc supply.

winding for starting, by conducting a suitable experiment. Assume the stator
resistance to be 1.2 when connected to dc supply.
21. Draw the equivalent circuit of an ac motor fed with 230 V, 50 Hz supply and
runs always with slip speed, by conducting a suitable experiment. Assume
the stator resistance to be 1.2 when connected to dc supply.
22. By conducting a relevant experiment, obtain the mechanical losses of a
3-phase motor that uses mutual induction principle.
23. By conducting a relevant experiment, obtain the constant losses and specify
the mechanical losses of a 3-phase motor that uses very minimum air gap
between stator and rotor.
24. Obtain the capability curves of the given 3-phase ac motor whose field is
separately excited with dc supply, by conducting a suitable experiment.
25. Show the variation of power factor and armature current with varying
excitation of the given 3-phase ac motor that inherently runs at constant
speed, by conducting a suitable experiment.
