NOTICE OF ORDINATIONS
Ordination is the time of special recognition for any man called by God to serve the church, and the point of departure for what we pray will become a mighty ministry. Ordination is beautiful in that it sets a man apart to be holy and godly, a beacon to society and a person full of the Holy Ghost for healing, wisdom, spiritual leadership and worship. Ordination is indeed a defining moment and one can never be the same again. After a considerable time of waiting, sustained teaching and visitations back and forth by Fr Francis Ward, our Director of Studies, it gives me great pleasure to announce that the Ordinations of Deacons and Priests will take place at two venues this year.

Ad Clerum 5/12 October 2012 The first, of five Deacons, will take place on 25th November 2012 at Christ the King, Kimberley. Those being Ordained in Kimberley will be Philip Simelane (St James Botshabelo), Denzil Philander (St Marks, Koffiefontein), Angelo Eriksen (Christ the King, Kimberley), Lennox Busani (St Francis, East London) and Siyabonga Thambo (Kirkwood, Eastern Cape) The service will begin at 09h30. All are engaged in sudies that will need to be completed before they progress any further. Zwelidumile Kama (St Mary the Virgin, Port Elizabeth) has asked that his Ordination be delayed as he feels he needs more time to prepare himself an admirable decision. We are having the Service of Ordination in Kimberley to assist with the very heavy costs of travel, especially from the Eastern Cape and we thank Fr Willie Meyers and his people for their hospitality. The second Ordination will be at All Saints Pro-Cathedral, Seshego, on Saturday 15th December 2012. Here, we will be ordaining both Deacons and Priests. The Deacons will be Mathhew Nene and Shadrak Maila (St Cyprians Atteridgeville). Those to be priested are Deacon Godfrey Mathibe (St Peters, Mathibestad) and Deacon Michael Maseko (Holy Trinity, Mamelodi). The service will be at 12h00 noon and will enable those newly ordained to return to their parishes for services on Sunday 16th December in their new role. Joining those from South Africa will be some of our brothers from Zimbabwe. I am awaiting details from Fr Murinda, but most of those made Deacons in 2009 will be Ordained to the sacred Priesthood. I am delighted to have the Pro-Cathedral used for this prestigious event, and to allow it the chance to show itself as our premier parish in the Diocese. We thank our brethren of All Saints Seshego for hosting us for this wonderful event in the life of our church, especially as they approach their 20th anniversary! It would be a marvelous gesture of support if as many of us as possible attend both these events. They are a milestone in the life of the man being Ordained and of his parish. They are also a sign of the very real growth within our church. What is exciting is that these are all home-grown candidates, something we have made a priority over the past years. We are truly developing a winning team! At both services the colour will be Red, and clergy are to be fully robed, either in Cassock, Surplice and Red Stole or in Alb, Amice and Girdle and Stole if in the Altar Party. I will be sending out liturgical notes for the services in the next few days that will apportion duties to the clergy. In Christ
