A STEWARDSHIP MOMENT
After healing the blind man in todays Gospel Jesus told him to go, to be on his way. But the man decided to follow Jesus. Being a disciple of Jesus is a choice. The stewardship way of life likewise involves a choice, in fact many choices. We choose to be grateful, we choose to live generously, and we choose to trust that God will always provide for our needs. These are three choices central to the stewardship way of life. What choices will we make this week that give witness to our decision to follow Christ?
On Friday. November 2nd at 7:30 pm and Sunday, November 4th at 3:30 pm, ETER8NITY will present its annual fundraising concert for the Upper Room Crisis Line. The theme this year is American Folk Music. A group of priests from the Diocese of Joliet will perform at the University of St. Francis Theatre in Joliet (Taylor & Wilcox Sts.) Tickets are $35 each - please call 815727-4367 for tickets. Hors doeuvres are served one hour before the show. The Upper Room Crisis Line is a 24 hour line for priests, brothers and deacons to call when they need to talk. It is an outreach to priests who live alone, elderly, sick or anxious about a meeting, or to share good things with a person that will listen.
Volunteers Needed
The Christ the King PADS Program (Public Action to Deliver Shelter) is looking for two volunteers (one man and one woman) to work the early shift on Monday morning (after the 3rd Sunday of each month) from 3:00 am to 7:00 am. The responsibilities include waking the clients, preparing breakfast items as part of a team, serving breakfast, and clean-up. Orientation and training will be provided. If anyone is interested in helping this group, please contact Jarrod or Martha Cebulski, CTK PADS Coordinators, at 630-932-4019.

Come Away With Me and Rest An Evening of Reflection for the Servant Leader November 6, 7:00-8:30 p.m. Christ the King Church
God calls us all in some way to serve. However, in the noise of life, we may not always be able to hear that voice. This evening we are invited to join together in prayer, song and reflection as we take time to rest in God to listen to the gentle whisper of the spirit. Our facilitator for this evening, Christine Grano, is an affiliate staff member of Mayslake Ministries in Lombard. Married and the mother of two adult children, Chris is a spiritual director, retreat leader and accomplished musician. She will share some thoughts about nurturing our relationship with God so as to be able to discern our call and be empowered to live that out. As we are all on the journey of faith, please prayerfully consider walking with your fellow traveling companions on this special evening.
VOTER INFORMATION
As Catholics we are not single issue voters. A candidates position on a single issue is not sufficient to guarantee a voters support. Yet a candidates position on a single issue that involves an intrinsic evil, such as support for legal abortion or the promotion of racism, may legitimately lead a voter to disqualify a candidate from receiving support. Faithful Citizenship USCCB 2007/2011 Since it is difficult for the average citizen to find accurate information about how the many candidates stand on the life issues, Illinois Citizens for Life has prepared nonpartisan voter information based on responses to a questionnaire, public statements, and/or voting records. This guide is not an endorsement and may not be used to advance the candidacy of any individual. For information please access the ICL web site at www.icl-life.com or call 630-852-5448 for assistance. Thank you for exercising your Christian responsibility to vote with an informed conscience.
Christ the King Parish will be hosting the above classes on specified dates. Each evening begins at 7pm in the PLC. I believe in God the Father addresses the question, Why did God create me?. If you would like to register, or for more information please contact Eileen Maggiore at eileen@ctklombard.org or 630-396-6076.

Being a Steward of Jesus means that we are not alone on our life's journey. We are given guidance, direction, and support as we face the challenges of our human life. God's love and compassion surround us as we seek to see the right path and avoid being blinded by selfishness and sin. Election Prayer
by the Servant of God ~ Fr. John A. Hardon, S.J. Lord Jesus Christ, You told us to give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and to God what belongs to God. Enlighten the minds of our people [in] America. May we choose a President of the United States, and other government officials, according to Your Divine Will. Give our citizens the courage to choose leaders of our nation who respect the sanctity of unborn human life, the sanctity of marriage, the sanctity of marital relations, the sanctity of the family, and the sanctity of the aging. Grant us the wisdom to give You, what belongs to You, our God. If we do this, as a nation, we are confident You will give us an abundance of Your blessings through our elected leaders. Amen. www.hardonsj.org

St. Lawrence Seminary High School Where Boys Become Men of Christ
St. Lawrence Seminary High School is a Catholic college preparatory boarding high school owned and operated by the Capuchin Franciscan friars. St. Lawrence is a place where students live, learn, work and pray together. Our global student population experiences a variety of cultures, traditions, ways of life, and diversity of thought. Students come to St. Lawrence because they seek a foundation that will give them the academic, social, and spiritual tools to become religious and lay leaders in the Catholic Church and the world. Besides the college prep curriculum, students and parents choose SLS because of its religious formation program in the Catholic tradition with an emphasis on vocational discernment and service to others through ministry in the emerging church. The beginnings of my vocation were strengthened by my experience of St. Lawrence Seminary. My parents loved to come and visit me. Parents do you have questions? Call Fr. Peter Jarosz 630-396-6079 or stlawernce.edu 920-753-7570
Montini Catholic High School hosted its first Open House of the school year on Thursday, October 18th, 2012. The evening began with a presentation in the school auditorium from President Jim Segredo, Principal Maryann ONeill, and Admissions Director Mike Bukovsky 83. Grade school students and parents visited over 50 sports and club/organization stations, went to faculty classroom presentations, and became familiar with the schools campus. Montinis administration, faculty, staff, and current students had the pleasure of meeting many prospective students and their families at the Open House. Montinis Open House gave families the opportunity to make an informed and educated decision on which school is the best fit for their student, while meeting the faculty, staff, and coaches. The wonderful turn out has excited the entire Montini Catholic community for their second Open House, which will take place on Wednesday, November 14th on campus, beginning at 7:00pm.

Sunday, October 28, 2012 1:00 pm In the East Room of the Rectory
You saw me before I was born." Psalm 139:16 (NLT) As the curtain rises, Hannah hesitantly steps onto the stage for her theatrical debut in college. Yet before she can utter her first lines, Hannahunscriptedcollapses in front of the stunned audience. After countless medical tests, all signs point to one underlying factor: Hannah's difficult birth. This revelation is nothing compared to what she then learns from her parents: she was actually adopted after a failed abortion attempt. Bewildered, angered, and confused, Hannah turns for support to Jason, her oldest friend. Encouraged by his adventurous spirit, Hannah joins his group of friends on a Spring Break road trip, embarking on a journey to discover her hidden past and find hope for her unknown future. In the midst of her incredible journey, Hannah finds that life can be so much more than what you have planned. Eileen Maggiore at eileen@ctklombard.org
