The versatility and leading-edge characteristics of Finnforest Kerto add a whole new dimension to wood construction. For the designer, Kerto means freedom that other materials are not able to provide. For the builder, Kerto offers flexibility and

savings in time while also allowing custom solutions. Large, impressive reference projects serve as proof of the possibilities that Kerto offers for innovative wood construction. But they are just the tip of the iceberg. Kertos real greatness
comes through in perfectly ordinary applications such as single-family homes, halls or kindergarten construction projects. What matters most in these applications is cost-effectiveness and safety and that the construction process and the elements are easy to handle.
A pleasant material:
Thanks to the ambience and natural beauty of wood, timber buildings are pleasant to live and be in. Kerto combines woods natural characteristics and the versatility of a technically advanced product. Wood structures also meet high acoustic standards and make highly effective sound insulation possible. Impressive fire safety properties contribute to Kertos attractiveness as a material for loadbearing structures.
Easy to build:
Because of its unique structure, Kerto is a material boasting excellent dimensional precision. Different veneer structures can be used to alter Kertos strength properties according to the application. Thanks to its straightness, Kerto is ideal for applications such as wall studs where warping would cause problems.
Lightweight structures:
A lightweight frame is in many cases a significant advantage. In renovations lightness is an advantage for example when strengthening roof girders. Kerto will keep the load borne

Finnforest Kertos lightness and good workability translate into considerable savings in time and expense. Building with Kerto is easy, and custom solutions can be implemented flexibly and conveniently. Kertos laminated structure is stronger than solid wood and its thinner cross-sections allow for more elegant structures.
During its life span, a wooden building is clearly less of a burden on the environment than buildings constructed of other materials such as concrete or steel. Among construction materials, only wood is renewable, and wood is easy to recycle. Wood grows by itself and is the only natural resource that does not pollute the environment while growing and used. Wood is the only construction material eligible for environmental accreditation. Finnforest Kerto wood procurement has been certified according to the Pan-

European Forest Certification (PEFC) standard, which indicates that the raw material used to manufacture Kerto comes from certified forests and is traceable.
Comprehensive distribution and service:
Finnforest is the leading mechanical forest industry company in Europe. We offer our customers a comprehensive distribution network and a unique service concept built around leading-edge products. Reliable deliveries and flexible service based on the customers needs - including design, installation and assembly if required - provide an integrated, versatile service solution for our customers and partners.
Finnforest Kerto partners have access to Finnforest EasyBeam, a dimensioning programme developed by Finnforest -an easy, professional way of choosing the right product grades and structures.
Our prefabricated component selection offers optimal, thought-out solutions for a large range of applications. Our custom service processes Kerto into finished products dimensioned to the customers specifications.
Thanks to its stiffness and dimensional precision, Finnforest Kerto, manufactured of spruce logs in accordance with an advanced method, is an ideal solution for load-bearing structures requiring great strength. Kerto is perfect as horizontal and vertical supports for roofs and intermediate floors, or as different components used by the construction and vehicle industries. New applications continue to come on stream. The range of Kerto cross-sections is extensive. The products are cut to specifications and delivered to the destination sites or, in the case of the most common cross-sections, products are available for immediate delivery from the distributors warehouses.
Kerto-S:
Kerto-T:
In Kerto-S, the grains run longitudinally throughout the veneer layers. It is a good choice for applications requiring long spans and minimal deflection. Suitable applications range from halls, public buildings and multi-storey timber buildings to one-of-a-kind dwellings. Kerto-S is appropriate for loadbearing structures and can be used as roof and floor joists and lintels. The product is suitable to new construction as well as renovations where Kerto-S beams are a convenient way of supporting old structures or replacing them completely.
In Kerto-T framework studs, grains run longitudinally throughout the veneers. Kerto-T is suitable for load-bearing and non-bearing structures in external and internal walls. Tall walls are easy to construct and can be counted on remaining straight. Kerto-T can be used with any sheet materials which are easily fixed without special tools.
Kerto-Q:
With some of the veneers glued crosswise, Kerto-Q is ideally used as panels. Moisture-induced changes are minimal in Kerto-Q and the crosswise veneers help eliminate them further. The cross-veneers give Kerto-Q additional crosswise stiffness, allowing the panels to be used to enhance structural stability. As beams, the product is an excellent solution in applications requiring high shearing strength. As the cross-veneer structure considerably improves the vertical load bearing strength of Kerto-Q, it is also very good as lintel material.
