Mission, Vision and Core Values

The Mission of the Chamber is to be the preeminent business advocacy organization in the Greater Lansing region by collaborating for economic growth, creating new opportunities for our members and upholding pro-business ideals through the advancement of sound public policy.
We will achieve this mission by: Leadership We will boldly embrace our regional leadership role and will make it our top priority to promote programs and initiatives that encourage economic growth in the Greater Lansing region. Access We will assist our members in growing their business by providing access to each other and the broader community and by engaging them in the Chambers work. Influence We will utilize our influence to advance the most important and viable economic issues and projects in the Greater Lansing region. Advocate We will be committed to advocating for the business community on issues that reflect our values and vision as a Chamber. Resource We will strive to be viewed as the leading business resource by providing services and information to help businesses be more profitable, and by providing networking opportunities that help business leaders make valuable connections throughout the Greater Lansing region. Quality of Life We will work to help the Lansing region and its citizens develop, maintain and enjoy an exceptional quality of life in business, culture, arts, education, and the environment. Regionalism We will recognize the importance of regional cooperation and lead the movement to tie business, government and education toward common goals in addressing community needs. Integrity We will never compromise our integrity, and the things we do will accurately reflect what we say. Diversity We will celebrate and embrace the rich diversity of the Greater Lansing region, which we view as critically important in helping the region grow and prosper. 2

A Message from the President

Like any membership driven organization, the Lansing Regional Chamber uses a variety of strategies to expand its membership reach throughout the region. Part of that strategy involves an emphasis on developing a new generation of members who will become the business communitys leaders of tomorrow. In our continued effort to reach across generational lines and communicate our Chamber messages throughout the region (and the world for that matter), we are excited to have debuted the Chambers new website. It is our hope that our continued expansion into the social media marketplace will help the Chamber more effectively target information about our events and other Chamber news. Please visit our Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin Page as well as our website and offer us feedback. The Chamber continues to identify new media partnerships and strengthen existing relationships in the region. Our partnership with the Lansing State Journal has resulted in the annual publication of ASSETS, which is a high quality magazine featuring the good economic stories in our region. LSJ and the Chamber have expanded their partnership to include regular publication of Chamber news in LSJs Business Weekly section. We have been very fortunate the past couple of years to have the strong support of media partnerships at WILX-TV 10 and Adams Outdoor Advertising. There are not many communities that can claim the level of support that the Chamber has had from such a diverse number of outstanding media organizations. Marketing messages in an increasingly fragmented information universe is a challenge that requires regular adjustments in techniques and strategies. The fact that the Chamber has the support of so many great partners will help us break through the clutter and communicate the good story we have to tell throughout the region.
