Special Education Paraprofessional Instructional Assistant Non-Exempt Campus Director As Assisted

Position Summary: Assist special education teacher to provide for the instructional needs of students with disabilities. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including behavior management and instructional programs. Assist individual and small groups of students with their assignments. Maintain logs and weekly reports. Work under the general supervision of the principal and immediate direction of the special education teacher.

Qualifications: Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work with students with disabilities Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively Strong computer skills to implement multiple and diverse programs Strength in subject areas of Math and Science

Education/Certification -Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree -HS Diploma/Meets NCLB Highly Qualified Experience Experience working with students

Responsibilities and Duties: Instructional Support 1. Help teacher prepare instructional materials and classroom displays. 2. Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom. 3. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of materials and equipment. 4. Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports. 5. Assist in the implementation of ARID identified accommodations Student Management 1. Conduct instructional activities as directed by the special education teacher for individual students or small groups of students. 2. Demonstrate support for student management policy 3. Assume responsibility for learning how to work with student's individual needs. 4. Help supervise special education students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This may include some campus duties. 5. Keep special education teacher informed of special education student progress/needs.
