THE PLAGUE IS A FRETTING LEPROSY

Opening Scripture: Psalm 41

John 12:24-38

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honourable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valour, but he was a leper. All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be. And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do. And the priest shall look on the plague, after that it is washed: and, behold, if the plague have not changed his colour, and the plague be not spread; it is unclean; thou shalt burn it in the fire; it is fret inward, whether it be bare within or without. The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow. (Exodus 4:1-7) And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned. (Lev 19:15-17, Pro 26:20, 11:13, 20:19, 18:8) But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. (Exodus 9:14) And if a leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot, wheresoever the priest looketh; Command the children of Israel, that they put out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:

THE PLAGUE IS A FRETTING LEPROSY

2 Chronicles 26:12-21 And Uzziah the king he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense. (1 Sam 2:28, Num 4:16, Joshua 11:20) Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief. (Hosea 7:6, Jeremiah 30:12-15) I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. (1 Kings 8:37-50) This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest: (Numbers 5:5-10) And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. (Luke 7:21-23, Matthew 20:34) And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (Leviticus 14:10-32) But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter. (Luke 5:12-16) And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. (Luke 9:23-26) And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. (1 Peter 4:11-19) Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. (Luke 17:1-10) As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. This is the law for all manner of plague of leprosy, and scall To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean: this is the law of leprosy.
