The children then choose to be an animal or robber. The children would then have 5 minutes to plan a dramatization. I will remind them how folktales have a strong moral or lesson therefore enforcing the need for the animals to cooperate. The children then would act out the story and come up with improvisational dialogue. I would then have them switch roles and give another 5 minutes of planning time before having them do another dramatization. This prop box emphasizes the benefits of working together. The study of folktales along with the dramatization of this story emphasizes the elements of folktales such as the importance of the plot and the shallowness of the characters and setting.
