4. Report Requirements
4.1. Run time/piece (4pts) Calculate the run time for each machine per blank, given that the approach and over travel are 1.5 inches on both sides for each machine. 4.2. Production rate/shift (4pts) Calculate the production rate per shift, given the performance ratings in section 7.1, the allowances in section 7.2, the auxiliary elements in section 7.3, and the setup/cleanup times in section 7.4; i.e., calculate the number of parts or pieces produced per shift. 4.3. Effective use of two machines (4pts) To effectively have one operator run both machines, we need to make the run time identical (why?). Present at least two ways this could be accomplished. 4.4. Element definition (4pts) In your lab report, be sure to clearly define each of your elements, which include identifying the break point of each element when you make a stopwatch reading. 4.5. Time study form (4pts) Present your complete time study form. 4.6. Suggested improvements (6pts) Suggest improvements to the current method for operating the two milling machines. 4.7. Dixon Test (4pts) Do the Dixon test on all element times.
