You will be asked to go to the next computer which is equipped with the software of e-voting system. Then, you will key in your pin number that has been given. The list of candidates will appear on the screen. And you are required to vote for 2 (two) candidates from the FACULTY and 9 (nine) candidates from PUBLIC.
Whats next?
Basically, this system is very easy. It saves time and simplify the process of voting as well as counting of the votes. However, if we just think about convenience, why dont we just use SMS voting? Wouldnt it be much easier?

In AUKU, students are given rights to vote for any candidate. (See: Section 52 Constitution of University of Malaya, University and University Colleges Act 1971). However, in this system, the system operator which are Center Information Technology (PTM) and HEP will control the system totally. When you register to get the pin number, your name will be detected and the system will record your vote. This means that the conductor of this system will know who you are voting for. There is no physical evidence that will prove our votes are secret. In addition, there is no guarantee for this system not to be hacked by anyone. Even though this system is equipped with VLAN (wireless that prevent hackers), there is no guarantee since we have some records of invasions.

This system can be improved by giving space to independent monitoring bodies such as MAFREL (Malaysian For Free and Fair Election) or Commission of Malaysia Election (SPRM) to participate in the selection committee of MPM. In addition, student representatives should be given a chance to sit together with the audit committee election. Selection main committee of Students Representative Council (MPM) should be selected based on integrity and frauds free. Students have rights to speak out and they can make their own decisions without restriction from any party.
