Planning Activity
You will complete the following planning steps: 1. Identify the standard you have chosen. Model Digital Age Work and Learning Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. a. Demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations b. Collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation c. Communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital age media and formats d. Model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning 2. Analyze the target audience for your presentation (who will be watching your video). In a word document, write a paragraph that includes the following points: (1) age (2) cultural background (3) educational level (4) specific entry skills (5) learning styles of the target audience (6) motivation (Using the ARCS Model) The target audience will be the member volunteers of a Christian-based church technology ministry. Volunteer ages range from 14 yrs and up. Most of the volunteers and church membership consists of African-American middle class families with educational levels ranging from high school grades, high school graduates, technical and college degree, and military experience. Entry skills include basic desktop computer operations knowledge and experience using electronic media devices (e.g. microphones, CD players, digital video cameras, etc.). For volunteers that do not have the required entry skills, reference materials will be provided to give a high-level introduction to desktop computers and sound devices. Examples include online resources such as http://www.gcflearnfree.org/computers

Davina Y. Smalley FRIT 7230 Fall 2012 Since the operation of the sound board and desktop computer requires that the volunteer manually adjust settings, listen to sound level output, and load visual presentation elements onto the computer, the volunteers prefer visual, tactile, and aural instruction. Using the ARCS model as a framework for motivation: Attention The volunteer will shadow an experienced technology ministry volunteer during a live service and monitor the operation of the multimedia system. Relevance - The volunteer will monitor the sound and visual presentations while sitting among the congregation and provide feedback from the perspective of a listener in the congregation. Confidence - The volunteer will assist with service start-up and shutdown tasks. Satisfaction The volunteer will be added to the technology ministrys multimedia team rotation schedule. 3. Write the objectives for your presentation. Remember that objectives should be stated using the ABCD format that you practiced in the ASSURE Model Module. Using the sound control board and desktop computer, the volunteer will be able to operate the multimedia system during Sunday morning worship service, ensuring that all microphone volume levels are appropriate and that each visual element is projected in a timely manner. 4. Upload your document to Georgia View Discussion.
