THE BASIC TEORY

Anabolism is formation reaction of simple molecules to be another complex reaction. Anabolism reaction are synthetic events or synthetic formations therefore it need energy and endergonic reactions are formed. The examples of this reaction are photosynthesis / carbohydrate synthetic by sunlight helps and kemosynthetic by chemical energy helps. Photosynthesis is synthetic reaction that needs sunlight (photos:light, synthetic:forming or making chemical materials).So, it means that photosynthesis is carbohydrate forming and carbondioxide and water by sunlight helps. The simply reaction is below: 6CO2 + 6H2O Sunlight C6H12O6 + 6O2 Photosynthesis happening in chloroplast. Chloroplast is a plastid organelle that has green leaf pigment (chlorophyll).The cell that contains chloroplast placed in mesophyll which called palisade or pillar tissues and sponge tissues. The parts of chloroplast are : a) Stroma : An empty structure inside chloroplast. The function is as place where the glucose from carbohydrate is formed. b) Thylakoid : The shape look like circular plates that pile each other. The function is sunlight energy catcher that will change that into chemical energy. c) Grana : a membrane that connected thylakoid. There are 2 kinds of Photosynthesis : the light and the dark reaction. The difference between them are the need of lights, how many reactions that they need, total energy that theyre produced.etc. Some of scientists tried to prove the Photosynthesis reaction, they are : 1. Sachs : tried to proof that plants produce amilum as the result of Photosynthesis. 2. Ingenhousz : tried to proof that plants needed sunlight for Photosynthesis and they will produce O2 as the result.

Alat : 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Beker gelas 500 ml. Beker gelas 250 ml. Pinset. Pemanas. Penjepit kertas (klip).

Bahan : 1. 2. 3. 4. Alkohol 96%. Air / aquades. Yod Kl/lugol. Tanaman berdaun lebar (daun singkong).

Ingenhousz Experiment
Alat : 1. 2. 3. 4. Beker gelas. Tabung reaksi. Corong gelas. Kertas karton hitam.

Bahan :

1. Tanaman hydrilla sp.

2. Air. 3. Kawat. 4. Alkohol 96%.

The Steps :
Uji Sachs 1. Tutup sebagian helaian daun dengan kertas timah pada malam atau subuh,penjepitnya dengan klip hingga rapat. 2. Petik daun setelah daun terkena cahaya 24 jam. 3. Buka kertas penutup dan masukan kedalam air yang mendidih. 4. Biarkan smpai daun layu. 5. Rendam daun singkong pada larutan alcohol,goyang-goyangkan hingga klorofil terlarut. 6. Simpan daun ke cawan petri,lalu tetesi degan lugol. 7. Amati perubahan warna yang terjadi. The pictures of experiment are below:

Uji Ingenhousz 1. Rakit alat. 2. Letakan rakit di tempat yang terkena cahaya langsung. 3. Biarkan selama 2 menit kemudian amati ada tidaknya gelembung di dalam tabung reksi tersebut. 4. Tutup rangkaian alat tadi dengan karton hitam,amati gelembung yang terjadi.

Answer:
1. The purpose of soaking the cassava leaves in alcohol 96% is in order to make the chlorophyll solution by loose the chlorophyll direct to the leaves and make sure the difference between the leaf that closed by tin and leaf that didnt close by anything. 2. To make the loosing of chloropyll become easier. 3. 4. The conclusion : plants need sunlight to get photosynthesis and produce Glucose that will form amilum as the results of that.If the criteria for their photosynthesis doesnt exists, the cells and tissues in the leaves will damage.

Uji Ingenhousz 1. Gelembung apakah yang terbentuk? 2. Pada detik dan menit keberapa gelembung pertama kali muncul di tempat terang? 3. Pada detik atau menit keberapa gelembung pertama kali muncul ketika ditutup kertas karton? 4. Tuliskan persamaan reaksi yang terjadi? 5. Buat kesimpulan dari percobaan di atas!

Answer: 1. The little bubbles that bubbling little by little because it was cloudy in that time. 2. The first bubble came out in 1:05 minutes. 3. The first bubble that covered by dark/black came out in 2:15 minutes. 4. 6CO2 + 6H2O Sunlight C6H12O6 + 6O2 + 36ATP 5. The conclusion : The plants will produce Oxygen as the one result of photosynthesis.
