In todays society there has been a great confusion when the words soul and sprit are used. As a rule most religious teachers will not correct the error or they themself have not studied or were not taught correctly. There are many pagan teachings that over time have been infused as doctrines into todays belief systems. December 25th is a great example. Just do a study in any religious doctrines you will easily find the mixing of pagan with inspired writings and teachings and facts. The different is quite easily understood. There are 2 steps: Step # 1a & 1b. God formed from the dirt the body of man, the organs etc. then he blew into it air and it became living dirt or flesh. Step# 2. Then he put the spirit / self-awareness into the living flesh. The end result= The combination of living flesh and spirit is a living soul. To keep things simple we will just quote the Bible to show the point. KJV with Strongs reference Gen 2:7 And the LORD 3068 God 430 formed 3335 man 120 [of] the dust 6083 of 4480 the ground 127, and breathed 5301 into his nostrils 639 the breath 5397 of life 2416; and man 120 became a living 2416 soul 5315. Note: breathed # 5301 means: to blow Note breath #5397 means: spirit of man, Spirit of God Note: life #2416 means: lively, active, green in reference to vegetation Note: living # 2416 means: lively, active, green in reference to vegetation Note soul #5315 means: life, creature, person Please note : life and living are both #2416! You must read the verse as a picture: remember there were no letters in the Hebrew written language.
