Strategic Metrics Workbook

Instructions: Fill out this worksheet by first examining business objectives and determining which ones the HR department can contribute to; list these in the Strategic Business Goals column. Second, outline the ways that HR can contribute by creating departmental objectives and listing them in the Strategic HR Goals column next to the relevant business objective. (Note: There are often multiple HR objectives for one business objective.) Third, outline the metrics you have selected to measure progress toward your strategic HR goals; list these in the Metrics column. Fourth, select an appropriate reporting frequency, as guided by the storyboard that accompanies this tool, and enter it in the Frequency of Reporting column. Lastly, indicate the source(s) of information for each strategic HR goal in the Metrics Source(s) column.
