(Original Media Release): HUNTERSVILLE, NC: On Monday, November 12, 2012 at 10:38 am, Huntersville Police Officers were called to a robbery in the parking lot of Target at 9801 Sam Furr Road in the Northcross Shopping Center. The suspect had fled on foot toward Sam Furr Road prior to the first officers arrival. The victim reported that the suspect reached into the open window of her vehicle and attempted to take the keys out and demanded her property. The suspect did not brandish a weapon. He ran across Sam Furr Road and got into a cab on Holly Point Drive, at which time he was transported to Old Statesville Road just south of East Catawba Avenue in Cornelius, where he was last seen. We have confirmed with the cab driver that this is the same subject from the robbery. Just prior to the robbery call for service, Huntersville Police were called to the parking lot of Home Goods, a business nearby, also in the Northcross Shopping Center, for a woman reporting that a subject approached her and demanded her vehicle. She refused and the subject moved on. Both women described the subject as a black male, in his 40s or 50s, tall, with short black hair, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and jeans. During the course of this investigation the Huntersville Police Department has obtained the attached photographs of the suspect. The Huntersville Police Department is asking that citizens take note of this subjects photographs, and if they recognize the individual to please contact the Huntersville Police Department. Anyone with information concerning this crime, or anyone requesting more information, should contact Lieutenant Kevin Johnston at 704-464-5400.
