Install
Therearetwocircumstances:A:PluginthedevicefirstandB:Installthedriverfirst.Unlessyouhaveastrong reason,theoptionPluginthedevicefirstwillbealwaysrecommended.

A:Pluginthedevicefirst
Step1:AfteryouplugthedeviceintothePC,therewillpopupaFoundNewHardwaredialogasbelow,leaveit alone.Thetextintheellipseindicatesthemodelofthedevice.

Step2:InserttheCDintotheCDROM,thentheAutoRunscreenwillpopupasbelow.

Step3:ClicktheDeviceDriverbutton,andaDevicesx.xSetupdialogwillpopupasbelow(thex.xindicates theversionofthesoftwarepackage,andanewerversionisalwaysrecommended).

Step4:ClicktheNext>buttontoproceedtheinstallationprocedure.ThenaChooseInstallLocationdialogwill pop up as below. Unless you have a strong reason to alter the default install location, the default settings are alwaysrecommendedforeasymaintenance.

Step5:ClickInstallbuttonandtheinstallprocedurewillstartimmediately.

 Step6:Whentheinstallfinishes,theFinishdialogwillpopupautomatically.

Step7:ClicktheFinishbuttonthefinishtheinstallation.

Installationvalidation
To check whether the device driver is installed successfully, right click on the Computer icon and choose

Propertiesmenuitemfromthecontextmenu.

ThenaSystemwindowwillappear.

ClicktheDeviceManagerlinktoopentheDeviceManagerwindow.ExpandtheImagingdevicesbranchand thedevicewillappearasasubitemofthebranch.

RightclickonthedeviceandchoosePropertiesmenuitem.Adevicepropertydialogwillpopup.Thetextinthe ellipseshowsthatthedevicedriverisinstalledsuccessfully.

B:Installthedriverfirst
InserttheCDandinstallthedriverasdescribedinsectionA.A.Becausethereisnodevicepluggedin,theFound

NewHardwaredialogwillnotpopup. Aftertheinstallationfinishes,pluginthedeviceandwaitforawhile.Thenamessagewillappearonthetaskbar indicatingthedriverinstallationfinishessuccessfully.

Uninstall
First,thedeviceshouldbepluggedintothePCtoperformtheuninstallationprocess.OpentheDeviceManager asdescribedinsectionInstallationvalidation.RightclickonthedeviceandchoosetheUninstallmenuitem. TheaConfirmDeviceUninstalldialogwillpopup.

Check the Delete the driver software for this device check button and click OK. Then the device driver is uninstalledsuccessfullyfromthesystem.Afterthat,youshouldnavigatetothesoftwareinstalllocationandlook fortheuninst.exefile.

Forexample,theDCM310isinstalledatC:/ProgramFiles/ScopeTek/Devices,navigatetothisfolderanddouble clicktheuninst.exefile.ThenaUninstallDevicesx.xdialogwillpopup.

Click Uninstall button and wait for the uninstall process finishes. After the uninstall finishes, you will be automatically navigated to the parent folder of the device driver folder. In this example, it is C:/Program Files/ScopeTek.
