24TH YMCA NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND 17TH YMCA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CLUB ADVISERS SEMINAR

THE PROGRAM:
This is a gathering of High School Students and Advisers throughout the Philippines. It is a venue by which they could share their views and ideas about current issues and concerns that are affecting their lives while reflecting on their local situations and realities. It is a structured discussion where the participants will be exposed to three levels of learning: Individual inputs from speeches of resource persons and the insights and ideas/ experiences from other participants;

Small groups sharing by the participants through group discussions in a commission of 15 to 20 members; and, Community learning in a plenary session where each commission will present its reports, resolutions, and/or plan of action or statement of commitment.

OBJECTIVES:
Through its over-all theme and its sub-topics, the 24th YMCA National Assembly of High School Students and 17th YMCA National High School Club Advisers Seminar specifically aims to: 1. Contribute in the development of the participants into effective and committed Christian leaders; 2. Help the participants to understand current issues and concerns and explore positive and relevant responses; 3. Encourage the youth to actively participate in protecting the environment to ensure the earths natural resources for the future.

The YMCA of Manila through its High School Work Department in coordination with the Department of Education.

REGISTRATION FEE:
Four Thousand One Hundred Fifty Pesos (P4,150.00) per delegate to cover meals (starting dinner of November 3 to lunch of November 6, 2012), lodging, assembly reference materials, insurance, certificate and miscellaneous expenses.

VERY IMPORTANT: Because of commitment, no refund shall be made, during and after the Assembly. Replacement for pre-paid delegates may be allowed but must be of the same sex.
Delegates are encouraged to learn and understand parliamentary rules and procedures and formation of resolutions.

Regional showcase of selected schools that will highlight the native songs and dances of their respective provinces.

WHAT TO BRING:
MUST - Enough money and clothes good for the duration of the Assembly and your journey (average temperature is 15 degrees centigrade), sweater or jacket, medicines for specific/common ailments, toiletries, padlocks with keys for the rooms, costumes for cultural presentation, school uniform and school banner for the Opening Program. NOTE: Sleeveless shirts, shorts and slippers are not allowed during sessions.

AVOID BRINGING: JEWELRIES AND OTHER VALUABLES Assembly Management shall not be responsible for the loss of any personal belongings.

WHAT TO DO:
1.Please send your reservations as early as possible without waiting for the deadline stating the name, sex and total number of participants (very important in room assignment). 2. All paid delegates will be issued a registration slip that indicates their room assignments; meal tickets and assembly kit. All delegates may pay at the YMCA of Manila office at #350 A. Villegas St., Ermita, Manila. 3. Delegates arriving before November 3 and staying after lunch of November 6, 2012 at the Teachers Camp shall shoulder their meals and lodging expenses.
