A sus ya conocidas y destacadas bellezas naturales, se le suman la constante mejora a su infraestructura, para que el visitante tenga siempre a su disposicin todos los servicios que necesite. La implementacin del TAX FREE, entre otros servicios, es una muestra del importante crecimiento que experimenta el pas. En el 2009 se inaugur la nueva terminal aeroportuaria de Montevideo, cuya sofisticada tecnologa la ubica entre las ms modernas del mundo. Una nueva terminal fluvial se inaugur en Colonia del Sacramento, Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad. Por ella pasan ms de dos millones de pasajeros, facilitando la accesibilidad desde Buenos Aires, desde la cual se llega en 50 minutos en ferries de ltima generacin.

Well-known and outstanding natural beauties, are complemented by constant improvements in infrastructure, enabling every service the visitors may need, to be always fully available to them. TAX FREE services, among others, are clear examples of the major growth the country is undergoing. In 2009, a new air terminal, considered to be among the most modern ones in the world, due to its state-of-the-art technology, was inaugurated in Montevideo. Colonia del Sacramento, World Cultural Heritage city, has inaugurated a new river terminal allowing easy accessibility from Buenos Aires, in a 50-minute trip covered by cutting-edge ferries, to over two million passengers a year.

Acompaa la infraestructura la formacin de sus recursos humanos. Se ha instrumentado con xito el denominado Plan Ceibal, que dota a cada alumno y cada maestro de todas las Escuelas Pblicas del pas, de una computadora porttil especialmente diseada para la funcin acadmica. Ya se han entregado 400.000 computadoras en todo el pas, convirtiendo a Uruguay en el pas de mayor conectividad y el primero en el mundo en implementar one cumputer per child. Completando el proceso se comenz con la enseanza secundaria, y en el correr del 2012 se iniciar con los preescolares de 3 a 5 aos. Todos los aos el plan es evaluado en encuentros de seguimiento, adems de incorporar experiencias internacionales.

Human resources education matches the infrastructure. The so-called Plan Ceibal, supplying, every pupil and teacher in every Public School throughout the country, a laptop specially designed for academic purposes, has been successfully implemented. 400 000 computers have already been delivered all over the country, positioning Uruguay as the leader country in the world in terms of connectivity level, and the first one to implement one laptop per child. In order to complete this process, the secondary education stage is under way, and during 2012 preschool children, 3 to 5 years old, are to be included. The Plan is evaluated on a yearly basis, through follow-up meetings, where international experiences are being incorporated as well.

Uruguay asiste a la radicacin de megaproyectos, como Zonas Francas, que son Polos de Desarrollo y Logstica a nivel mundial. La inauguracin de la filial del Instituto Pasteur de Francia y la instalacin del Instituto Weismann de Israel en Montevideo, son muestras evidentes de este notable proceso.

Uruguay gives assistance to the establishment of megaprojects, such as Free Trade Zones, which are Development and Logistics Poles, at a worldwide level. The opening of both the Pasteur Institute of France and the Weismann Institute of Israel branches in Montevideo, are outstanding evidences of this remarkable process.

Uruguay has created the necessary conditions to be a stable and increasingly reliable country for investment in general. As a result of its political and economic stability, security and qualified workforce, among other factors, investment in Uruguay in recent years has reached recordbreaking levels, with the establishment of a number of major industries. The worlds most exclusive brand names can be found in Punta del Este, on the traditional main street of Gorlero as well as on the rapidly growing Calle 20 and in its shopping malls, reflecting both its glamour and its ability to maintain a balance between its development and its natural setting. An international call for bids was made for the construction of a Convention and Exhibition Centre for 5,000 participants, encompassing roughly 12.000 square meters of exhibition space and involving an investment of approximately 20 million dollars. This undertaking will become the number one convention centre in South America, given its privileged location in Uruguays leading beach resort and the bounties offered by this top-class tourism destination to the region and the world.

Productos como las carnes, lana y lcteos tienen presencia en todo el mundo dada su calidad y fundamentalmente gracias a la trazabilidad del conjunto de la cadena productiva crnica que es reconocida internacionalmente. En el noreste del pas, la Regin Termal asiste a nuevos emprendimientos que comprenden SPA, Complejos de Entretenimientos Acuticos y hoteles de primera categora, siempre respetando tratamientos sustentables para una de las ms importantes reservas de agua dulce del mundo: el Acufero Guaran.

In northeast Uruguay, the hot springs region is witnessing the development of new facilities including thermal spas, water park complexes, and top-class hotels, all of them designed with full respect for the sustainable use of one of the worlds most important freshwater reserves, the Guaran Aquifer.

La costa ocenica del departamento de Rocha es un proveedor de maravillas naturales inagotable, con opciones ideales para disfrutar de actividades de ecoturismo en su mxima expresin.
