to the presence of surface oxygen vacancies that lead to electron redistribution on the different ions at the surface. So the sample is annealed twice at T= 700 C for 5 h under 0.8 0.9 bar of air. This sample showed ferromagnetic hysteresis loop at 300 K. Keywords: Nanoparticles; Ferromagnetism; Superconductivity; Coexistence MAG 046

CoFe2O4 nanoparticles were synthesized by using co-precipitation at room temperature and at 80o C. The bare and Silica coated nanoparticles were calcined at 600-900o C under atmospheric conditions. By increasing the calcination temperature, the mean crystallite size was observed to increase, though the presence of Silica shell in coated particles, limited the particle to a smaller size. It was observed that by decreasing the particle size, the coercivity and remnant magnetization decreased. Particles which are smaller than 5 nm exhibited superparamagnetism. Nickel ferrites nanoparticles doped with cobalt and manganese (Ni0.99 Co 0.01 Mn0.01 Fe1.99 O4) were synthesized by solgel combustion method. The effect of calcination temperature on the properties of the ferrite was also studied. The structural properties of all samples investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. The XRD analysis indicated that the all samples have cubic spinel structure. Their M(H) loops have been traced using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The saturation magnetization (Ms) was increased as the calcination temperature increased. Keywords: Ferrites; Nickel ferrite; Dopants; Solgel combustion method. MAG 045

By increasing interest of the use of magnetic nano materials, the adsorption of methylene blue (MB), the first synthetic drug and organic cationic dye onto sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) modified maghemite nanoparticles (SDS--Fe2O3), was investigated. Several advantages of this experiment is simple, time-saving and low cost synthesis of sufficiently stable maghemite nanoparticles as compared to magnetite or other forms of iron oxide nanoparticles with easy modification by SDS; efficient adsorption as compared to other adsorbents; simple magnetic separation of MB loaded nanoparticles; and utilization of robust design parameter optimization in the laboratory experiment for effective removal of this cationic dye from aqueous solutions. A 54 design using central composite design (CCD) based response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to accommodate the four significant factors on dye removal. The factors considered in this study were pH, weight of adsorbent, amount of SDS, and time of adsorption. Maghemite nanoparticles (-Fe2O3) were prepared easily in a surfactant-less microemulsion, by co-precipitation method and coated by SDS. Synthesized maghemite nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction XRD and BET measurements. The experimental data were analyzed by adsorption models. The obtained results come through simultaneous CCD optimization showed that the SDS--Fe2O3 NPs can be so efficient for removal of cationic dyes in such a way. Magnetic properties of superconducting yttrium barium copper oxide (YBa2Cu3O7-) nanoparticles (27 nm), prepared by a citrate gel modification of the sol-gel technique, have been studied. According to X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis the nanoparticles have orthorhombic structure. Room temperature magnetizations measured using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) showed that they have magnetic properties. The development of ferromagnetism is attributed

Microwave irradiation at a frequency of 2.45 GHz and a power of 720 W was used to prepare pure and Cu doped cadmium sulfide (CdS) nano particles. CdCl2.2.5H2O, CH2CSNH2 and Cu(CH3COO)2.H2O were used as cadmium, sulfur and copper sources respectively while ethylenglycol was used as stabilizing agent and catalyst. In order to control the size of the particles, the chemical solutions were irradiated at different times1-15 min. To prepare Cu2+ doped nanoparticles 1-10 Wt% of Cu (CH3COO) 2.H2O to CdCl2.2H2O was added to solution.
