During the course, you will complete eight academic units, either over eight months (Fast track) or 12 months (Standard) see Course Structure table on page 7. We provide extra lecture and tutorial time during semesters you will have a three-hour lecture and a two-hour tutorial to help you gain the necessary skills for universitylevel study. English entry requirements for direct entry to Diploma are IELTS academic 6.0 (with no band less than 5.5).

Our Bachelor of Business will keep you up to date with arapidly changing world. In a CSP, the government contributes to the cost of your studies and you pay the balance. HECS-HELP loans are available to eligible students enrolled in a CSP to cover all or part of the student contribution amount. If you receive a HECS-HELP loan, the Australian Government will pay the loan

Scholarship policy 1. Two scholarships for one academic terms tuition are offered at all Navitas member institutions each. 2. Where the Academic Assessment Committee must differentiate between equally qualified applicants, additional factors such as educational disadvantage, membership of a specific equity group and/or significantly adverse personal circumstances may be taken into account. 3. Students are eligible to qualify for the scholarships after successful completion of their first term and after commencing their second term. 4. Students can only be awarded the scholarship once. 5. Students already in receipt of a scholarship may not be eligible for the Navitas scholarship. 6. Students are required to pay for any additional courses or subjects or courses undertaken that are over the amount covered by the scholarship.

The scholarships are applied to the tuition for the second term of enrolment only or the final semester of study in an undergraduate or postgraduate program. Students must be enrolled as a full time student to qualify for the scholarships. The scholarship panel from each Navitas member institution will announce the recipients of the Navitas academic merit scholarships upon the completion of each term and the release of the results. The recipients will be notified by mail and the successful students posted on the college website by consent. Students are not required to apply for the scholarship, as it is awarded based on academic performance and all students are eligible.

academic support
Our Academic Development Unit offers free workshops covering a range of topics designed to help students get the most from their learning experience. Our staff members have experience working with students from non-English-speaking backgrounds and understand their specific needs and concerns. We regularly monitor all students academic progress to identify students who are in need of additional attention and require one-on-one support. workshop sessions are scheduled throughout the semester. English support workshops: Weekly workshops are scheduled for students from non-English-speaking backgrounds. These workshops are designed to help students improve their academic English skills. mentor program: Students who are having difficulty in a particular unit can request to be assigned to a student mentor. A mentor is a current student who has already completed a particular unit and scored above average. Mentors are available on campus one hour per week to assist and mentor new or less-skilled students. general and academic counselling: Students have access to a free and confidential counselling service designed to provide extra support in settling in to studies and life at ACN. Our registered on-campus psychologist can provide strategies to cope with challenging situations, offer general advice on issues relating to academic or personal life, and help students to make difficult decisions. younger student support: Additional support is offered to students under the age of 18, including weekly meetings and academic performance monitoring with Student Services.

While studying at ACN, you will have the chance to take part in cultural, sporting and social activities. Activities may include harbour cruises, karaoke parties, chess club matches and professional social networking events, as well as sports like golf, tennis or soccer. Some activities are free, while others incur a small fee. You can book all activities through ACNs reception office.

Privacy act
ACN is bound by the Australian Privacy Act 1988, which regulates the ways in which private-sector organisations can collect, use or disclose personal information. Information collected before a student begins their studies and during their studies may be made available to state and federal government agencies and the ESOS Assurance Fund Manager to ensure compliance with ACNs obligations under the ESOS Act 2000, the ESOS Regulations 2001, the ESOS National Code 2007 and other relevant state and federal legislation.
Code of conduct
ACN plays an important role in the lives of students. All students studying at ACN have the right to be treated with respect and courtesy by ACN staff and fellow students in an environment that is free from harassment and is conducive to learning. We expect you to abide by our code of conduct by accepting responsibility for your behaviour, conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times and treating staff and fellow students with respect, honesty and courtesy.

Prospective international students intending to study in Australia must obtain a student visa from an Australian High Commission, Embassy or Consulate in their home country before travelling. Some students can also apply online: to find out if you are eligible, visit immi.gov.au/e_visa/students.htm. All international students must comply with current visa conditions and regulations determined by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).

How to apply
Complete the Application form in this brochure or on our website at latrobe.edu. au/acn. The Application form must be accompanied with certified copies of relevant academic transcripts. Successful applicants will be sent a Letter of Offer. Early application and payment will secure your place in your chosen course and, if you are an international student, allow you enough time to obtain a student visa. and charges have been paid and any conditions specified in the offer have been met and accepted by ACN, a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) will be issued. standing is made by La Trobe University and ACN. Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis. Your prior studies must have been completed within the last 10 years, and certified academic transcripts must be included with your application.

Fees must be paid in Australian dollars. You can pay your tuition fees by electronic fund transfer, bank draft or bank cheque (no personal cheques) or credit card*. HeCs-HeLP
If you are an Australian citizen you may be eligible for the Australian Governments HECS-HELP loan scheme, which helps pay all or part of your tuition fees. You must be enrolled in a unit as a Commonwealth Supported Student to be eligible to apply. New Zealand citizens are not eligible for HECS-HELP, unless they are also Australian citizens or holders of a permanent humanitarian visa and will be resident in Australia for the duration of their units. Note: A special Category Visa (SCV) is not a permanent visa.

In the event that: a. ACN does not begin the course on the agreed start date; or b. the course ceases to be provided by La Trobe University through ACN at any time after it starts, but before it is completed; or c. the course is not provided in full to the student because a sanction has been imposed on La Trobe University under Part 6 of the ESOS Act 2000 and the student has not withdrawn before the day of default; then all tuition fees paid by the student are fully refundable within two weeks after the default day, in accordance with the provisions of the ESOS Act 2000 and the ESOS Regulations 2001. 1.0 Refunds A student who fails to meet degree/diploma progression rules or attendance requirements and who is not permitted to re-enrol will be eligible for a refund of fees paid in advance of notification of exclusion. 1.1 In the event that an offer of a place is withdrawn because the offer was made by La Trobe University on the basis of incorrect or incomplete information being supplied by the applicant/student the tuition fees paid for the semester are refundable less an administrative fee of up to 10% of the tuition fee for one semester. 1.2 In the event that an offer of a place is withdrawn or the University is unable to provide the course, all tuition fees paid for the semester are fully refundable, unless the offer was made on the basis of incorrect or incomplete information being supplied by the applicant/student in which case ACN reserves the right to retain up to 10% of the fee for one semester. 1.3 Where a student, after accepting an offer of a place or enrolling for the next semester, gives a minimum of four weeks written notice before the commencement of the semester of an inability to undertake the course, the tuition fees paid for the semester are refundable less an administrative fee of up to 10% of the tuition fee for one semester. 1.4 Where a student gives less than four weeks written notice before the commencement of the semester of an inability to undertake the course, 50% of the tuition fees paid for the semester are refundable and the student is liable for 50% of any fees charged. 1.5 Where a student withdraws from a course after the commencement of the course but within the first four teaching weeks of the semester, 50% of tuition fees paid for the semester are refundable and the student is liable for 50% of any fees charged.
