VCT 49xyl, gm5221 LCD TV Reference Design V2E

The V2E LCD TV reference design is a cost-effective worldwide LCD TV solution supporting LCD panel sizes from 10 inches to 22 inches. It utilizes a ready-to-use twochip solution from Micronas and Genesis, comprising the VCT 49xyl all-in-one TV front-end and the gm5221 LCD display controller. The VCT 49xyl is software compatible to legacy TV front-end solutions from Micronas which are well proven in the field reducing extensive field testing, thus enabling TV manufacturers faster time-tomarket. In addition, the gm5221 LCD display controller leverages Genesis patented advanced image processing technology, as well as proven integrated ADC/PLL, ultrareliable DVI digital receiver, ITU 656 video port, advanced TV color controls, bitmaplike OSD, and dual LVDS or 24-bit TTL to support multiple panel sources. The V2E LCD TV reference design provides a complete input connectivity for CVBS, Y/C, YCrCb, HD-inputs 480p, 1080i, and 720p, as well as PC analog and DVI inputs. Complete input connectivity: CVBS, Y/C, YCrCb, HD-Input (480p 1080i, 720p), DVI, PC-input. Advanced TV color controls using ACC/ACM, provide user selectable viewing modes such as Cinema, Nature, Sports Full-function TV OSD with bitmap-like look and feel Flexible LVDS and TTL output enables use of multiple panel sources
