The Meridian Nursery provides a safe, friendly, inclusive, professional, enjoyable and stimulating environment that enhances all aspects of all learning, education and development. The Meridian Nursery combines caring with education by following the Department of Education's learning framework, the revised Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) 2012. We believe that learning should be stimulating for young children, so play times are educational as well as fun. Our Nursery promotes the development of creativity, individuality and selfconfidence, whilst delivering the highest standards of child care. From birth to 5 years our children and toddlers play in a safe, warm and homely environment. We ensure that each child feels at home whilst we provide childcare that is educational, professional and enjoyable. The success of Meridian Nursery is founded upon a fundamental commitment to quality education combined with fun and care. The Meridian Nursery is situated in the heart of Manningham and is accessible by bus or car. We have been established since 2006 and we have achieved a Good report from Ofsted 2010.

ADMISSIONS AND SETTLING IN Most children settle into the nursery very quickly however we always ask you or your family member to stay with them for at least the first session to help the child adjust to the new surroundings. Your childs key person will keep you updated on your childs progress.

NURSERY OPENING TIMES We are open term time only. Monday to Friday Mon to Wed 9.00am -12pm sessions for children ages 3-5 yrs. 1.00pm -3.30pm playgroup sessions for children aged 2-3 yrs.

ATTENDANCE Ensuring your child attends nursery every day is one of the most important things you can do to support their learning and development. We appreciate you telephoning us if your child is absent on 490373.

SCHOOL MILK & SNACKS Children are provided with a drink of milk at the nursery each day and a snack of fruit or toast. There is no charge for this.

LIBRARY Children can borrow books from our library to read at home. This is another important way of supporting your childs learning and development.

NURSERY CLOTHES We do not have a uniform but ask you to ensure your child is in suitable clothing i.e. non-slip shoes/trainers are best for nursery especially when playing outdoors.

YOUR CHILDS PROGRESS Each child has a special book containing notes, records of activities, colourings and photos. This allows you to keep updated with their activities, progress, learning and development.

FIRST AID Your childs safety is of paramount importance to us. We have staff qualified in First Aid in case of accidents. Please tell us if your child has any particular health or dietary needs or allergies.

COMPLAINTS AND COMPLIMENTS In the event that you feel our service falls below the required standards please ask in the office for a copy of our Complaints Procedure. We take all complaints seriously and we would always encourage you to discuss any concerns with us. We also like to hear your compliments, so do let us know what you think we do well in.

INCLUSION POLICY We have an inclusion policy in place for people of all social and cultural backgrounds, faiths/ and religions. We recognise and value the strength of our diversity. Inclusion is meant in the widest sense. Our day nursery is specifically designed to suit the needs of your child, with large, spacious play rooms and outdoor play areas, complete with modern equipment and a variety of age appropriate toys and books that children adore. All surfaces are child safe and friendly equipped with high quality soft safety material. Our nursery provides the benefit of outdoor space, which is utilized at every opportunity. Our play area offers a variety of age appropriate equipment, as well as stimulating features and sensory play areas, sand pits, slide and playhouses. We have 24 hour CCTV cameras and security fencing for added safety as well as video entry system and pin entry locks. Our staff are all suitably trained and experienced to provide the best service in child care. A friendly atmosphere is created within our nursery environment, based on warm and caring relationships between our nursery staff and the children in their care. Babies are encouraged to communicate, and their attempts at conversation are valued to ensure they receive an affirming experience, encouraging development, confidence and security. Our nursery environments also support social interaction, including role play, den making, and small group activities, encouraging children to play, talk and learn together.

Your child is allocated a 'Key Person' who is responsible for your child's well-being, ensuring your child feels comfortable, happy, and safe while they are away from home. Your childs Key Person will liaise with you at the end of each session, keeping you informed of your childs experiences at nursery and ensuring you dont have to miss out on any aspect of your child's day. Our nursery childcare manager has12 years of experience with children and is a qualified Early Years Professional (EYPs) (Level 6) and has passed a series of national graduate-level EYP standards in working with children aged 0-5. We have 3 member of staff who have NVQ level 3 in Childrens Care, Learning and development and a further 3 member of staff who have a NVQ level 2 in Childrens Care, Learning and development are currently working towards their Level 3 apprenticeship in Childcare. Monday to Friday 9.00am -12pm sessions for children ages 3-5 yrs. Mon to Wed 1.00pm -3.30pm playgroup sessions for children aged 2-3 yrs.

The playgroup is on postcode eligibility criteria. We are Members of Bradford Under-Fives Association (BUFA) and we participate in the Early Years Quality Improvement Support Programme (EYQISP). We have good ECERS and ITERS audits and we undertake annual inclusion and environmental audits at our nursery. The Meridian Nursery is committed to offering quality childcare, learning and development to every child that attends our nursery.
