University of Kings College, 2009 - present Candidate for Bachelor of Journalism Honours with Canadian Studies, 2013. Completed the Foundation Year Programme at Kings in 2010 and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.22 (as of May 2012). Canadian Studies Honours Thesis completed on public history, media perpetuations and the story of the M.S. St. Louis (mark of A-). Journalism Honours project (which will be published on the Kings Journalism Review) explores the ethics of travel writing. Currently in the fourth year newspaper workshop, writing for and producing the Commoner newspaper, a Halifax weekly. During the winter term, I will be working in the online workshop which produces unews.ca, followed by the investigative workshop under the guidance of Fred Vallance-Jones. University of Calgary Centre for Military and Strategic Studies, May 2012 Certificate of completion for the Canadian Military Journalism Course. Was one of 12 students selected to travel to the University of Calgary on a scholarship. The course included classroom work and study of media-military relationships and embedding agreements, and four days on CFB Wainwright observing and interacting with Canadian Forces training.

March of Remembrance and Hope, May 2011 Selection and participation in the March of Remembrance and Hope Holocaust Case Study. One of 60 Canadian post-secondary students selected to travel to Germany and Poland on a nine-day Holocaust case study. The study included pre-travel readings and assignments and post-travel education. The tour included talks with Holocaust survivors, visits to several death camps and many memorials. Fredericton High School, 2005-2009 New Brunswick High School Diploma with Honours. Awarded the Black Kat Scholar, Academic Large Black F, Small Black F, Epsilon Ys Mens Club Scholarship, Brian Goodine Memorial Award, Yearbook Award and Medal. Graduated with a GPA of 91.6 per cent. Extra-curricular activities included secretary on the 2009 Grad Class Executive, co-editor of The Graduate Yearbook (2009), Encounters with Canada Program (2008), Student Council Homeroom Representative (200709), Special Events and Graduate editor for The Graduate (2006-08), Fredericton High School musical productions cast member (2005-09).
