Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 22:6(KJV) Parents are responsible for training their children in all that is included in "the way of the Lord. God has given the responsibility to parents, however todays realities show that parents are losing their primary role to external factors. One author points out that many parents spend long hours working to provide physical things for their children, but they are so busy working that they neglect to give their children time and attention. The Parents have taken up the philosophy of the world hence today the children are left to their own freedom, parents leave children to raise themselves , and exposed to confusion, they stumble into the hands of their friends, strangers, schools and daycares. An atmosphere filled with, unrighteousness, corruptibility, disobedience, lust, adultery, freedom to sin, impurity, violence, sin, immorality, ungodliness, and condemnation will provoke a child to wrath. Hence the child goes rebellious and chooses to walk away from God, walk in his own way in life, disobey God and finally rebels against God. In Ephesians 6:4, the scripture says Bring your children up in the training and admonition of the Lord.
The bible says in Deuteronomy 6:7 Impress them [Gods word] on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up". Thus its our responsibility to instill proper biblical truth, moral character and values into our children. We are to encourage our children to pursue dreams, passions, and occupations in keeping with their unique gifts, abilities, and passions, the way God designed them. With these responsibilities comes

great accountability. God expects parents to raise children RIGHT, and He will hold those accountable who do not. Many parents take great pride in the fact that they are providing their children with proper food, shelter, clothing, and education, but at the same time these parents are FAILING to provide their children with the greatest need of all! Yes, food, shelter, clothing and education are important, but the Lord Jesus Christ says that there is something far MORE important: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you Parents should have the zeal for teaching their children and not allow todays realities to distract them from their God given responsibilities. They have been given the privilege of being stewards of their childrens lives for a very short time, but the teaching and training they provide is eternal.
