Nu Flows innovative, Pull-in-Place technology rehabilitated a deteriorated drain line that was located beneath an inaccessible room on this campus.
Circumvention: The customer explained that replacing the failing pipes was not an option, since technicians are not allowed close to the large radiation room. An in-place pipe lining solution had to be administered in order to rehabilitate the existing pipe line. Nu Flows innovative technology demands fewer access points than competitors, increasing its versatility with applications and challenging environments, such as within this specific job. Solution: Nu Drain provided the ideal solution with the customer. This unique, Pull-in-Place pipe liner was installed in-situ and cured to form a new, protective and seamless pipe-within-a-pipe. All breaches in pipe have been sealed, and this liner will also prevent future failures from occurring. The largest challenge of this job was the debris removal from the pipe without accessing the radiation areas. The technicians were able to successfully do so by carefully measuring and installing smaller sections of Nu Drain liner to repair the damaged pipe without having to create any access in the building. Hot water was then used to speed up the curing time of the epoxy liners. Nu Flows work at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies was done during the summer, so no students or professors were disturbed. Thanks to Nu Drains patented in-place process, there was no destruction to the campus or the buildings.
