The university offers the following options for tuition exchange:

Language Exchange registration: Students wishing to take courses in English or other foreign languages abroad pay only 5% of the student tuition semiannually. Documentation required by the University of Medelln tuition language exchange: Registration Form Letter of acceptance or enrollment at the host institution Clear and legible copy of passport Students who are required to obtain a visa or a letter of recommendation will also have to submit a copy of the transcript from the University of Medelln to the embassy of the country to which they wish to travel. This process may be extended for a half a second. If you want to prolong the experience for a third letter must be sent to the Academic Council requesting permission to perform this extension. Tuition Academic Exchange: Applies to cases in which the student fulfills their curriculum at another institution, it should be canceled for the following percentages: 5%: Exchange of subjects without reciprocity (when there is no agreement with the host institution) or Language Exchange 50%: Exchange of subjects with reciprocity (when exchange agreement is signed) Note: These costs are non-refundable and are equivalent to the interchange fees, according to Decree 3 of 4 September 2006. General requirements to apply for an academic exchange: Have a minimum cumulative average of 3.5 No history of disciplinary action Demonstrate great performance on academic retreats Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of foreign language of the host institution Comply with other requirements of the university or foreign institution and requesting respective embassy.

Steps in academic exchanges: 1. Student will select desired universities to visit. 2. Student will evaluate the curricula of these universities in order to ensure that the offered courses fit with his/her current academic program. 3. Student will meet with respective Dean or Head of Program in order to gain approval of prospective abroad program. 4. Student will fill out the registration form aspiring exchange, will attain the documents mentioned above as applicable, and will bring them to the Division of International Relations. 5. Student will claim settlement exchange registration in Section Admissions and Registration and perform the respective payment. Documentation required by the University of Medelln tuition academic exchange: Registration Form aspiring exchange Clear and legible copy of passport Letter of acceptance from the target universities Letter of Authority from parents for academic exchange Proof of international health insurance The time at which this documentation must be presented varies depending on each foreign institution, so it is recommended that students begin the application process at least one semester in advance. Requirements for foreign students or other cities: Student Registration Form for visitors Online registration at www.udem.edu.co (visiting student choosing an option in transit) Letter of endorsement from the university of origin Copy of the identity card or passport Curriculum Vitae Two color photos on white background Letter from a guardian who is responsible for the process of academic exchange International Health Insurance (foreign visiting students) or evidence of EPS (for domestic students) Other documents required as applicable

IMPORTANT: International students must obtain a student visa in their home country. Once arriving to Medellin, they must register within fifteen days at the local office of the DAS (Department of Administrative Security) if they stay in the country for more than three months. This document costs approximately 137,000 pesos (approximately 70 dollars), which must be entered in the account name DAS Revolving Fund, indicating the code 102 which corresponds to the time card.

Additionally students must bring the following documentation: Original receipt of consignment of money and two copies of it, scoring in the support and management Student's phone number in Medellin Two copies of passport biographical data sheet with the number and date of expiration Two copies of the sheet with the stamp of entry Six color photos on matte blue background (that has no shine) Two copies of the certificate of RH (blood) issued by a laboratory Letter from Medellin University reporting dates of study Fill out the form provided by the DAS with a copy of the letter from the university Address and telephone number of DAS in Medellin: Calle 19 No. 80A-40, Tel 345 5500 - Aliens: 238 9252

Registration of international practice: An international practice is a paid or unpaid job opportunity abroad. It allows students the opportunity to gain knowledge about other cultures, languages and in some cases expand their international vision. The student who intends to do an international practice should take into account that it must meet the following requirements: Minimum of 16 weeks Intensity 40-hour weekly schedule Focused in developing activities that are relevant to students area of study

Documentation required by the University of Medelln for tuition of international practice: Registration Form aspiring exchange Letter of acceptance signed on company letterhead, describing dates, job description, hours, salary and duties carried out, if applicable Clear and legible copy of the student's passport Proof of international health insurance The student must pay tuition fees for an international practice at the value of $ 690,987, according to the Decree 6 of 7 July 2008, which may increase each year in accordance with the manner prescribed by the University Rector.

In either of the above cases the student will be responsible for airfare expenses, room, board, books, supplies and international health insurance. NOTE: Academic Council except international practice will take place from the sixth semester onward.

Activities considered International Practice: 1. Internships in business. 2. Participation in research processes in areas related to their training. 3. Conducting courses, counseling and consulting that complement training. An alternative for international practice is IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience). This organization, which operates in more than 60 countries on five continents, promotes practices in technical organizations and industries. It also gives students the opportunity to meet fellow Colombians who are training in labor practices abroad. Every year the General Conference links the representatives of these organizations. Previously, each member was responsible for collecting bids from companies willing to receive foreign students for a short period of training, depending on the field of study and as a complement to university education. Full-time regular students at the university level who have completed half of their career are eligible to participate, including those that are missing one semester to complete it at the time of submission of application. Requirements Must be a student at the Higher Education Institutions linked to IAESTE program Must speak English and preferably have a working knowledge of other languages Must actively participate in university life and maintain a good grade point averages during their studies

NOTE: A requirement of the University of Medelln is to belong or have belonged to any seed research. Terms During the period of the training, the participant receives a monthly maintenance allowance in the currency of the country you are in. This stipend is enough to cover basic living quarters, meals and local transportation. The program does not cover transportation costs to and from the place of training or life insurance / medical expenses.
