Description: Curas Catastrophe Cover pays for the cost for treatment received in hospital as an in-patient less an excess amount of R100 000. The excess amount shall be the greater of an amount equal to the maximum benefit payable by the insured medical scheme or an amount of R100 000. Benefits: The maximum benefit payable in terms of this policy shall be R2 000 000 in aggregate per annum per principal member (Per family). Claims: Following an insured event the Principal Insured Member shall at his own expense: - As soon as possible notify the administrator of any claim in writing but not later than one hundred and eighty (180) days from treatment for such incident. - Supply in writing any such proof or other information as the Company may reasonably request. - As often as required provide authority for the Company to inspect all current and/or past medical or other information including the results of any blood tests and submit to medical examination on behalf of and at the expense of the Company. - Where the Insured Member is not a Principal Insured Member the Principal Insured Member shall provide or obtain the necessary permission or consent to comply with this condition failing which all benefits in respect of any claims subject to this condition shall be avoidable. Waiting Periods: A waiting period of 3 months will be applicable. Mandatory 12 month waiting period for pre-existing conditions. 12 Months waiting period on pregnancy. - Any claim in terms of this policy will prescribe after twelve (12) calendar months from the date of occurrence of the insured incident if the claim is outstanding and not a subject of a then pending cour t case. - Any benefit payable in respect of hospital confinement shall only become due at the end of a period of such confinement. However payments on account can be made to the Principal Insured Member at the end of a thir ty (30) day period of hospital confinement at the discretion of the Company. - All benefits payable shall be paid to the Principal Insured Member his legal representative whose receipt shall in every case be a full discharge to the Company. - No benefit payable shall carry interest.

CLAIM NOTAFICATION PROCEDURES Please note that should you have a claim under your policy you are required to notify your insurer, via your broker, of such a claim within 180 (one hundred and eighty) days from the date of happening of the event giving rise to your claim. If you fail to notify your claim timelessly it may be repudiated due to such late notification.
