Hymn of Praise
THE CHURCHS ONE FOUNDATION
The churchs one foundation is Jesus Christ Her Lord, She is His new creation by water And the word; From heavn He came and sought her To be His holy bride; with His own blood He bought her, and for her life he died. Elect from evry nation, Yet one oer all the earth, Her charter of salvation, One Lord, one faith, One birth; One holy name she blesses, Partakes one holy food, And to one hope she Presses, with Evry grace endued. Mid toil and tribulation, And tumult of Her war, She waits the consummation Of peace forevermore; Till with the vision Glorious, Her longing eyes are blest, And the great Church victorious Shall be the Church at rest. Yet she on earth hath union with God, The Three in One, And mystic sweet Communion with those whose rest is won; O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace That we Like them, the meek and lowly, On high may dwell with Thee.

7:30 a.m.
said, Please tell me your name. But he replied, Why do you ask my name? Then he blessed him there. 30So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.

11:00 a.m.
Then he told them a parable: Look at the fig tree and all the trees; 30as soon as they sprout leaves you can see for yourselves and know that summer is already near. 31So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near. 32Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things have taken place. 33 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
29
Be on guard so that your hearts are not weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of this life, and that day does not catch you unexpectedly, 35like a trap. For it will come upon all who live on the face of the whole earth. 36 Be alert at all times, praying that you may have the strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.

UNISON SCRIPTURES
Confession of Sins
Almighty and Most Merciful Father, we come before You, acknowledging our sins, our shortcomings, and our breaking of our Covenant with You. Not only have we done things we ought not to have done, said things we ought not to have said, left undone so many things we ought to have done and been silent when we should have witnessed for You. Not only are we guilty of that, O Lord; but we have also closed our eyes and pretended not to see the injustices, the racism and the evil which pervade our everyday lives. We have shut our ears and pretended not to hear the cries for liberation which come from the lips, lives and hearts of the oppressed even our own Black brothers and sisters! Forgive us, O Lord, renew our courage and faith, and keep us ever mindful of Thy great sacrifice. Hear us, we beseech Thee, as we come to You in love and worship giving Your Name the praise forevermore. ****** To All Our Visitors ... To all who mourn and need comforting ... To all who are friendless and want friendship ... To all who are oppressed and need liberation; and to whosoever will come, Trinity opens its doors. Thank you for coming, and may God bless you.

Advent Meditation
WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT FOR CHRISTMAS? YES, THIS IS AN APPROPRIATE QUESTION!
It is o.k. to want something for Christmas. To be sure, we often make too much of our asking or buying or giving, but this is a time when God gave us a wonderful gift. What would happen, if, above and beyond the material gifts, you concentrated on what you deeply want, deeply seek and deeply need? Might you find it? Let the physical gifts have their place in the fun and expectation of the season, but also look a little higher. What might you receive that would be worthy of a sky full of angels, a special star seen in the east or the coming of new life in a Bethlehem manger? God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. God gave, and the world received. Advent is a time of preparing ourselves to receive more fully all the truly satisfying blessings that God has to give us. These gifts do not come wrapped in ribbons and bows, but in ways that are very personal and heartfelt. What do you, yourself, really want or need? What might be included in Gods gifts that would make a significant difference in your life? Let your imagination run. Visualize these things not as mere wishes but as genuine possibilities. Perhaps, they are the very gifts that God has in store for you. Dare to seek and to ask! A strange, but very human, conflict arises here. We have an inner longing and we try to satisfy it with a new toy. We want to show our love for someone and we give the person a tie or a bracelet. The Ho! Ho! Ho! is fun and appropriate, but a quieter Love! Love! Love! is more lasting and more satisfying. During the Advent season, it is good to keep this balance or imbalance in mind. Dare to want and seek the deeper gifts! This goes for what you would like for yourself and also for what you would like to give or share with those near to you. Keep the channels clear, so that you can receive Gods gifts and also enable others to receive them.

World AIDS Day
December 1st is World AIDS Day, a day to remember lives lost to HIV infection, celebrate the advances of science in treating those living with HIV/AIDS and renew a commitment to education and prevention. Here are some ways you and your faith community can show your support: ~ Support AIDS education. If your congregation offers a health care program, parish nurse program or sexuality education, include information about HIV/AIDS prevention, detection and treatment.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
~ Support HIV testing.Clergy and lay people alike can offer support to congregation members who choose to get tested for HIV. Compassion at this time can make a big difference to both those being tested and their families. Such support also reduces the stigma often associated with the disease. ~ Contribute to HIV/AIDS prevention projects. Both local and international HIV/ AIDS prevention efforts benefit from financial contributions. Contributions are used to educate people about HIV/AIDS, provide treatment for those who are already infected and, in the developing world, focus on preventing the spread of the transmission of the HIV virus from mother to child. By raising awareness in our congregations and communities, we can provide lifeprolonging care and support for those already living with the condition, and we will be helping with HIV/AIDS prevention as well.
Prayer: Dear Lord, today we remember those who are living with AIDS. Bless them and the healthcare workers and researchers who stand with them in their struggle. Amen.

2012 Trinity UCC Theme Walking, Talking and Living Our Faith, Ephesians 4 (NLT)
January Ephesians 4:1 Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. February Ephesians 4:2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each others faults because of your love. March Ephesians 4:3 Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. April Ephesians 4:4 For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. May Ephesians 4:5-6 There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all. June Ephesians 4:7 However, he has given each one of us a special gift through the generosity of Christ. July Ephesians 4:11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. August Ephesians 4:12 Their responsibility is to equip Gods people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. September Ephesians 4:13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of Gods Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. October Ephesians 4:14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We wont be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. November Ephesians 4:15-16 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. December Ephesians 31-32 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
