An Inspirational Poem
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for your support of the Christopher Catanese Childrens Foundation.
This is our 5th anniversary of the CCCF Fundraiser in memory of our son and
brother, Christopher. We created this Foundation as a way to celebrate the life and
spirit of Christopher. Our son was a charming young man who lived a beautiful
life that was full of endless possibilities. He laughed often with everyone and
was loved by all. Chriss life was surrounded by magnicent family and friends
who have always been there for us in our time of need. Although Christopher is
no longer with us in presence, he is thought of and missed deeply every minute
of every day.
Each year, we are heartened by the support we receive from family and friends
and business sponsors to make this a successful fundraiser. The proceeds we
receive from our fundraisers enable the Foundation to provide nancial assistance
to individuals and organizations making a difference in the lives of children and
their families. In this Program Book, we have included a list of those who have
received funding from our Foundation with highlights of The League School of
Greater Boston and Rev. Msgr. John McLaughlins visit to Haiti. Our annual
recipients can be viewed on our website at www.chrisfoundation.org.
As our Foundation matures, the goal is to make an even bigger impact in the
future of childrens lives. We believe that our outreach is a way for us to celebrate
and honor Christopher and his life in a positive and productive way. Our goal is
to help children in need to improve their lives, fulll their hopes and dreams, and
to make a better world for them. When we see Christopher again, we want him
to be proud of the way all of us chose to revere his time on earth. We can never
change yesterday, but we can make a difference today in the lives of children and
their families in Chriss memory.
We are blessed to have supportive family and friends who have helped to make
this fundraiser a success; without you this
event would not be possible.

The mission of the Christopher Catanese Childrens Foundation is
to nancially assist families in meeting the needs of their children
in various ways. The Foundation will assist needy children with
educational development, medical expenses for treatments, and
the well-being of a child by assisting with resources that may
allow them to participate in extra-curricular activities such as
sports and summer camps.
Christopher lived a life full of love and laughter, surrounded
by a strong family. We celebrate Chriss life by reaching out to
children in need and hope that Chriss spirit will be felt by the
recipients of his Foundation.

Visits the Be Like Brit Orphanage in Grand Goave, Haiti
Rev. Msgr. John R. McLaughlin Jr, visited the Be Like
Brit Orphanage this past August and spent several days
visiting with the children, workers, and people of Haiti.
He toured the orphanage with Len Genel, Britneys father.
Msgr. McLaughlin was impressed with the progress and
hard work of the dedicated crew and volunteers who are
fulflling the fnal wishes of Britney who texted her mom
three hours before the earthquake hit Haiti, They love us
us so much and everyone is so happy. They dont care that
theyre poor, they love what they have and they work so hard to get nowhere and they are all so
appreciative. I want to move here and start an orphanage
myself. I already know this is what I want to do with the
rest of my life.

Brits dream will come to fruition in January of 2013
when the Be Like Brit Orphanage will open. Its located
in Grand Goave on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The orphanage will house 66 Haitian children: 33 girls
and 33 boys symbolic of the 33 days Brit was missing at
the Hotel Montana.
We are honored that the cafeteria is named Christopher J.
Catanese. Len and Cheryann chose this room because its
the focal point where all the children will meet. One of the
childrens quad rooms will also be in Christophers name.
Msgr. McLaughlin will always remember the beautiful,
smiling faces of the children of Haiti who will soon have a
place to call home.

The League School of Greater Boston was established in 1966 by two
sets of parents, and has grown into a school of 85 children across the
autism spectrum. The school is located in Walpole, MA and is one of
only 4 schools in Massachusetts recognized as a National Association of
Special Education Teachers (NASET) School of Excellence. Students are
enrolled from 39 towns throughout Massachusetts.

CCCFs donation to the League School of Greater Boston will aid the
staff in providing access to technology that will assist their students
ability to learn and communicate. This will allow each student to reach
their greatest potential which is the schools mission.
