Public letter to Pope Benedict seeking charitable help for the cats of Miraflores in Lima, Peru. We know the enormous love that the Pope feels for defenseless cats, and so we are appealing to his noble heart, to move priest Alfonso Berrade Urralburu to another church, or that he be sent to Spain. It is requested of the Catholic Church to take action on the matter concerning the Spanish priest Alfonso Berrade, who systematically mistreats the colony of cats living in the Central Park of Miraflores. The gentleman to the church Virgen Milagrosa is giving interviews where he shows his hatred for animals, and his loyal supporters take to the church doors screaming for the cats to die, because the church hates these animals as though they are from Satan. These people are being manipulated by the priest Alfonso Berrade, who uses the church to promote hatred for animals. We believe that a church should be used to promote love, peace, harmony, and the love for God and his creation. The priest takes advantage of older people living in the church, the priest uses the elders of the church to get signatures against cats living in the Miraflores Park and evict them of the park and submit to the municipality of Miraflores. In Peru we are very Catholic, and these priests only caused embarrassment since the said gentleman would not cooperate with the rescue of a poor defenseless animal, and keeps insulting the animals to the press, blatantly revealing his hatred of these animals. It is requested that the priest Alfonso Berrade be deported to his country or moved to another church, and that the Catholic Church sends to the Virgen Milagrosa church a priest of good heart who sympathises with the kittens that have lived in the park for 20 years. These animals receive a balanced diet, veterinary care, are wormed, have rabies vaccine, vaccine "triple feline", have their vaccination cards 2012,are properly counted and divided by sector well organized, work hard and tirelessly conducted by the "Volunteer Group of the Felines Defense" (GVDF) Miraflores Park, formed by residents of the same city, they have made this difficult, dedicated and wonderful work for 20 years, serving more than 140 cats from around the park, including house cats abandoned by people without love of animals, 85% of cats Miraflores park are properly sterilized, so the volunteer group (GVDF) helps to maintain a stable and constant colony averaged 140-150 cats. So we now appeal to the Catholic Church, who we know has a good heart and only promotes the love for ones neighbour and for animals, that it stands up and places in that church a priest who feels affection for animals, both for the good of the community of Miraflores and also to avoid further scandals, as the current priest cannot control his character and temperament. On the contrary, a priest should work to promote adoptions of these cats and love for these creatures through his Mass, as does Pope Benedict XVI.
