6th grade science Biome Project

We are going to use the Missouri Botanical Garden’s website to learn about the biomes of the world.
First you will be divided into groups and assigned a biome. You will then research the biome that you
are assigned by using the website you are given.

Step 1: Log onto www.mobot.org/MBGnet/

Step 2: Investigate the pages related to your biome.

Step 3: Gather the following information:


Where is your biome located?
What is the annual average temperature? (Highs and lows)
What is the annual average rainfall?
What is the vegetation of the region?
What grows there?
What is the landscape? (What does the land look like, hills, flat, etc)
Who inhabits the land? (Animals and/or humans)
What if any is the industry?

Step 4: Find pictures from the web, of items from step 3 that represent your biome. Place them
in a word document, utilizing the most space. Before you can print you must get
approval from the teacher as you will be printing in color.

Step 5: Place the information you have gathered on the biome map.
