on workshops Noortje Habets Emotion driven design workshop In this workshop I learned that design for emotion is about designing for conflicting concerns. When you make a specific concern more tangable, more experienced, you can combine this with another concern, which the user might not prefer, but since it is made more tangible he/she will be more likely to use it. In the context for my own project you could say that right now throwing away organic waste on a place that is too far away and thereby throwing it in a deep hole and not knowing where it is going to is not satisfying and will not fulfil your concerns. When the place to dispose the waste is closer and you would get something back (as a reward), this makes it way more interesting to do so: you get something in return. Nevertheless you should pay attention to the fact that the concern of not doing it should always be taken in consideration. I think this workshop was really useful to get some confirmation and tips as well. Interactive prototyping workshop For the interactive prototyping workshop I prepared a set of cards which I would, individually, present to the people in my group. Each time they would have to pick between two cards. I used this to find out what aspects of the elements I wanted to include in my design, which were way too many, are most useful or wanted by starters. The participants had to take the state of mind of a starter with a busy job. It gave me really nice insights and ways to go forward in my process.
