During his inauguration speech, President Barack Obama warned the terrorists

that the United States "will defeat you".

President Obama must be reminded that the words were heard around the world.
The terrorists might not have bothered to tune in, but the rest of the human
race understood the ringing words loud and clear.

The message was: Armed violence will not be tolerated by the new leader.

There are at present over several hundred armed groups around the world,
most of them in the developing nations, and virtually all of them prefer
to use the gun and the knife, instead of negotiations to advance their
individual causes.

A few of these groups concentrate their armed actions solely against military
targets, the others, however, prefer to target innocent civilians, knowing
that harming the civilian targets hurt the enemy more.

President Obama must now make the decision to stick to his words made in his
speech on the day he was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.

All human beings who love peace will forever be observing whether President
Obama is indeed really a man who lives up to his promise(s).

Many armed groups are definitely terrorist by nature; Such armed groups are
extremely violent in their operations, possess high-powered weaponry, are
known to be guided by extremist racial and/or religious sentiments, also,
their members are often involved in activities such as kidnappings, summary
executions, forced inductions, child recruitment and suicide bombings.

Among the most ruthless and extremist of such groups are the several Islamist
militant organisations that operate in Gaza.

Whatever name they call themselves, these militants are in the same league
as the Blackshirts and Brownshirts of the early 20th century, and the Khmer
Rouge and the head-chopping fanatics of the Moro movement of South East Asia
in the late 20th century.

President Obama must ensure that such extremist militants are aware that they
have earned the label of "terrorist" right from day #1.

These terrorists must eventually be eradicated because they have no place in

our civilised world. It might take some time, but these terrorists should, at
the end of the day, be given the choice of disbanding voluntarily or face
arrest and be tried for banditry or better, face total annihilation.

The entire civilised world must firmly reject all terror groups that are fond
of proliferating very violent and extremely militant religious leanings. No
religion accepts the act of killing other humans as sacred scripture. If not,
it must be an usurpist religion.

President Obama must tear down the wall of hypocrisy that has surrounded the
Gaza problem, a wall that has being well built by many disparate quarters, all
with their own axes to grind & all gravely ill with double-standards disease.

The US must impress on all those who claim to be highly civilised nations to
stop immediately their current acts of coddling the terror groups in Gaza.
Steps must be taken to weed out those who are blocking genuine peace.
President Obama must now insist on an international force to be stationed at
the Egypt-Gaza border, unimpeded flow of lawful goods there, close off all the
Israel-Gaza checkpoints, temporarily ban the presence of all UN personnel and
offices in northern Gaza, shift all UN humanitarian operations to the central
and the southern parts of Gaza for the time being & last, but not least, give
a stern warning to all the gun-toting and rocket-carrying monkey groups not
to use their weapons unless they got the green light from the UNSC.

Should the terrorist militants get itchy fingers, President Obama must never
hesitate to hunt them down, or even better, give them a taste of their own
medicine; Whack their safehouses & weapons-storage compounds with Tomahawks.

If the US & the Nato soldiers can continue to incur many civilian casualties
in Iraq, Afghanistan & the Afghan-Pak border areas, a few civilian fatalities
in Gaza should not be allowed to stand in the way, if, total annihilation of
the Gaza terrorist militants becomes an unavoidable option. (A few people
have still not forgotten that Allied Bomber Command killed 20,000 civilians
in Dresden in early 1945 in a 24-hour period on mere rumours that the German
Army was mass mobilising in the city. In 1942 Jap soldiers wiped out 250,000
people in eastern China in retaliation for the Doolittle raid.)

President Obama must walk the talk. The rest of the world is watching. All
peace-loving people want to know what your decision is going to be. If the
US is fearful of the Gaza terrorists, then the least the US could do is to
get out of Iraq, Afghanistan and even Korea altogether.
