Champaign, IL 61820 December 2nd, 2012 To Whom It May Concern, I am a Junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Im applying for a student teaching position through the Office of Clinical Experiences. Im interested in this position) because I have a passion to help students succeed. Educating our children is one of the most vital careers in the world and I will approach it with all of the seriousness and dedication I can muster. My academic and volunteer experiences reflect my qualifications for this position. As a History major and education minor, I complete two years of training (culminating in my passing the Illinois Basic Skills test), acquired over 50 hours of tutoring, obtained high grades in numerous classes that were required for the application. During my volunteer experience with the America Reads America Counts program, where I acquired my tutoring hours, I worked with students in one-on-one and classroom settings. These experiences gave me valuable insights in how students operate. This will be very useful in student teaching because understanding how students react to a lesson is a key part of making and implementing a great lesson. I am also a dependable, hard-worker a useful trait when it comes to working with the students and other teachers because it ensures that I do whatever those groups require, whether its helping to organize a school event or leading my class through a project. In conclusion, I am interested in this job because I am confident I can help the students succeed. I have included my rsum for consideration and I would deeply appreciate the opportunity for an interview. Please contact me by e-mail at mcclare1@illinois.edu or via my phone at 1-815-992-5125. Thank you for taking the time to review this application. Sincerely, Donald McClarey
