1 General
This user manual describes the operating instructions for SAW K-4. Control panel enables the user to control all welding parameters, to start/stop welding and to monitor welding current. User can save 10 different welding programs with different welding parameters. These programs can be selected easily for a specific welding.

1. LCD Display 2. Laser on/off 3. Fast wire feed/retract 4. Weld start 5. Weld stop 6. Program 7. Shift 8. Yes entry 9. Numerical key, number entry

10. No entry 11. Stop tracmotor 12. Wire feed forward 13. Start tracmotor 14. Rectract wire Some keys have secondary functions. These function are detailed in related sections.

3 Main Menu and Welding Parameter Adjustment

Control panel is energised by turning-on the welding power supply. If there is no error in the system, Main Menu is shown in the display after self check. Main Menu includes the following sections.

1. Wire speed (centimeter/minute). Section 3.1describes how to change wire speed. 2. Welding voltage. Section 3.2 describes how to change welding voltage. 3. Tracspeed. Section 3.3 describes how to change tracspeed. 4. Actual welding current. 5. Number of welding wires. 6. Wire diameter 7. Program number (0..9)

3.1 Adjusting Wire Speed

Wire speed can be edited by using keyboard in stop position (welding not started), and it can

be incremented/decremented by using as follows:

and

buttons while welding. Operation is

3.1.1 Adjusting Wire Speed While Welding is NOT Started

Pressing button in main screen while welding is not started, selects the wire speed in the symbol. In this condition, new wire speed can be

window. Selection is shown by an

entered using keyboard ( 1..9 buttons). Entered values blink during entry. Pressing

button again, accepts the entered values. Pressing values.

button during entry cancels the new

3.1.2 Adjusting Wire Speed While Welding is Started

During the welding, pressing During the welding, pressing button increments the wire speed. button decrements the wire speed.

3.2 Adjusting Voltage

Welding voltage can be edited by using keyboard in stop position (welding not started), and it

can be incremented/decremented by using is as follows:

and

buttons while welding. Operation

3.2.1 Adjusting Voltage While Welding is NOT Started

Pressing by an button two times, selects the voltage area in the window. Selection is shown symbol. In this condition, new welding voltage can be entered using keyboard

( 1..9 buttons). Entered values blink during entry. Pressing

button again, accepts the

entered values. Pressing

button during entry cancels the new values.

3.2.2 Adjusting Voltage While Welding is Started

During the welding, pressing During the welding, pressing button increments the voltage. button decrements the voltage.

3.3 Adjusting Trac Speed

Trac Speed can be edited by using keyboard in stop position (welding not started), and it can

be incremented/decremented by using as follows:

and

buttons while welding. Operation is

3.3.1 Adjusting Trac Speed While Welding is NOT Started

Pressing shown by an button three times, selects the Trac Speed area in the window. Selection is symbol. In this condition, new Trac Speed can be entered using keyboard

( 1..9 buttons). Entered values blink during entry. Pressing

button again, accepts the

entered values. Pressing

button during entry cancels the new values.

3.3.2 Adjusting Trac Speed While Welding is Started

During the welding, pressing During the welding, pressing button increments the voltage. button decrements the voltage.

3.4 Loading and Saving Program

Pressing button and a button between 0 and 9 selects the entered program. Change in

any parameter is NOT saved until the program save operation is applied. Program can be saved by pressing number between 0 and 9. button, button, and entering a program

3.5 Editing Welding Menu Parameters

Welding menu contains the following parameters for each program: Backburn time, Number of welding wires, Welding wire diameter, Hot start rate, Hot start time,

3.5.1 Entering Welding Menu

Press and buttons in order to enter welding menu.

3.5.2 Editing Parameters

In the welding menu, use parameter is shown by an Editing Backburn Time: Backburn time is the time between the welding wire stops and welding current stops. During this time, welding wire burns back, and prevents sticking. In order to change this and buttons for selecting a parameter. Selected

symbol in front of it.

parameter, select Backburn Time; enter a value between 1 and 9; press Editing Number of Welding Wires:

Number of welding wires should be entered for the correct welding voltage. Select

No.of Wires; enter a value between 1 and 2; press

Entering Wire Diameter: Welding wire diameter should be entered for the correct welding voltage. Select Wire

Diameter; press

to see predefined wire diameters; select the corrent one by using use

and

buttons; press

to accept selection.

Editing HotStart Rate: Hotstart rate is a rate of current added to the welding short circuit current limit at the beginning of welding. In order to change this parameter, select Hotstart Rate; enter a value

between 1 and 9; press Editing HotStart Time:

Hotstart time is proportional to the time at which the hotstart is applied. In order to

change this parameter, select Hotstart Time; enter a value between 0 and 9; press

3.5.3 Leaving Welding Menu

Select Exit; press .

4 Turning ON/OFF Trac Motor

Press Press button for turning ON the Trac Motor. button for tuning OFF the Trac Motor.

5 Start/Stop Welding
Welding is started by pressing Welding is stopped by pressing button. button. 8

6 Laser Pointer
Laser pointer is used to position the welding head. It can be turned on/off by pressing button.

7 Wire Feed, Wire Retract

Wire feed and retract is done by and buttons. button.

Fast operation can be applied by pressing
